1. Bassano Dam Bassano
Bassano is a town in Alberta, Canada. It is located on the Trans-Canada Highway approximately 140 kilometres east of Calgary and 160 kilometres northwest of Medicine Hat. It is also on the main line of the Canadian Pacific Railway. A short distance south of the town is the Bassano Dam , which serves as a reservoir for nearby communities and for the irrigation of the vast farm and ranch lands surrounding Bassano. The community has the name of Marquis de Bassano, a railroad promoter.

The Royal Tyrrell Museum is a Canadian tourist attraction and a centre of palaeontological research known for its collection of more than 130,000 fossils.Located 6 km northwest from Drumheller, Alberta and 135 km northeast from Calgary, the museum is situated in the middle of the fossil-bearing strata of the Late Cretaceous Horseshoe Canyon Formation and holds numerous specimens from the Alberta badlands, Dinosaur Provincial Park and the Devil's Coulee Dinosaur Egg Site.The Royal Tyrrell Museum is operated by Alberta's Ministry of Culture.

Horsethief Canyon is found 16 kilometres northwest of the town of Drumheller, in the province of Alberta, Canada. It is on the east bank of the Red Deer River, along Highway 838 . Both Horsethief Canyon and Horseshoe Canyon are distinctive features of the surrounding badlands of central Alberta. Although the two canyons look similar, they are separated by several kilometres and were created by different tributaries of the Red Deer River. The name Horsethief was given to this area because of an illegal horse trade network used in the last century. Horses being smuggled illegally between the United States and Alberta were supposedly hidden in this canyon, but the true origin of the name is not clear.

It was designated an Alberta Provincial Historic Resource in 1989 and a National Historic Site of Canada in 2002.

Visiting Italy is an amazing experience whether you are seeing the Roman ruins throughout the country in places like Rome or Naples, but for all the amazing things you should do in Italy (visit Venice, Florence, Rome, Ravenna, Amalfi Coast, eat until you explode) there are things you DON'T DO when you come to Italy & Here are our 12 things NOT TO DO in Italy when you are traveling Italy.

The Don'ts of Italy
1. Don't expect to get discount prices on fancy Italian luxury brands.

2. Don't eat near tourist sights. You will be ripped off and not get as good of Italian food as you would away from the tourist sights.

3. Don't Tip. They already charge you for service.
4. You Don't have to scream louder to get people to understand you.
5. Don't worry about overdressing, the Italians will always look better than you.
6. Don't just visit Rome and Venice, there is so much more to Italy.
7. Don't share your pizza and make sure you do eat it with your fork and knife.
8. Don't use the fast trains for short distances, they are not worth the significantly higher prices.
9. Don't expect to see spaghetti and meatballs on the menu TOGETHER. They will be there separately, but not together.
10. Don't expect a big breakfast in Italy. Just coffee and a cookie.
11. Don't overpack. You will be limited on space when traveling in Italy so pack accordingly.
12. Don't expect to be served food in a restaurant between 3pm and 7pm.

Western Canada bus trip (5): Calgary to Medicine Hat 2012-05-31

A Greyhound bus leaves Calgary's hidden-behind-cloverleaf-maze bus depot to inch its way through downtown and Memorial Drive to the Trans-Canada Highway. Quick stops is made at the towns of Strathmore, Bassano, and Brooks before following the arrow-straight highway with 100 km of uniform, sleep-inducing wire towers on its north side, past Suffield to Redcliff, and finally arriving in Medicine Hat.
