Lunch trip to Muar Johor Malaysia : Great Places to Visit in Malaysia [Small Girl Big World]
I am heading to Muar Johor Malaysia for a lunch before going on with my trip to Melaka. Muar is a small town in Johor Malaysia and it is very famous for its food. One delicious food in Malaysia is named after this town, the Otak Otak Muar.
I compiled a short cinematic video of my lunch trip to Muar here. Hope you enjoy it. And Muar food is awesome and delicious. Must come to try Muar food if you have the oppurtunity
Muar (Tamil: மூவார்) is a town and the capital of Muar District, Johor, Malaysia. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Malaysia to be visited and explored for its food, coffee and historical buildings from the pre-war. An alternative name to it is Bandar Maharani. It is declared the Royal City of Johor by Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar and is the fourth largest city (after Johor Bahru, Batu Pahat and Kluang) in Johor. It is the main and biggest town of the bigger entity region or area of the same name, Muar which is sub-divided into the Muar district and the new Ledang district, which was upgraded into a full-fledged district from the Tangkak sub-district earlier. Muar district as the only district covering the whole area formerly borders Malacca in the northern part. Upon the upgrading of Ledang district, the Muar district now covers only the area south of Sungai Muar, whilst the northern area beyond the river is in within Ledang district. However, both divided administrative districts are still collectively and fondly called and referred to as the region or area of Muar as a whole by their residents and outsiders. Currently, the new city centre is the Bakri area in Muar. Muar town has been declare as Muar Bandar Diraja Johor.

Batu Pahat @ Segenting Fishing Village
Located just a 20mins drive from the little town of Batu Pahat lay’s a placed called Segenting. This places is an isolated village away from town. People travel on motorbikes & bicycle around this area. Small food stalls along the path way to the open sea. What makes this place worth the visit are the shrines & temples that face the open sea. Visitors come here in hope to change their luck. There is a saying for a Chinese business owner, the sea represent your business & the fish that you catch is your wealth. For those that believe in this will travel & seek blessing from the ocean kingdom. Kinda like Greek mythology when they offer to Poseidon. It's believed that the ocean has the power to change your fate. I love the ocean and I wish that it will always be as beautiful as it has been. Let's try to make the world a better place.

Couchsurfing in Malaysia, Batu Pahat. Lithuanians traveling around the world
Couchsurfing in Malaysia, in a beautiful rural area 20 kilometers from the city called Batu Pahat was such an amazing experience. Mahommad (from Couchsurfing.com) was a great host, his mother was so kind it felt she can even touch your soul. Mohammads father and brother were seems to be intelligent men. His brother is only 17, but we were really amazed that he has strong opinion about everything and you can discuss with him about many things. Also our Couchsurfing host Mohammad has too beautiful sisters. What a nice family :))
We stayed with these guys for tho times: once before going to Singapore and once after. Despite the fact Batu Pahat was 20 km away from their home, they came to pick us up and after the second stay, Mohammad even took us and two other Couchsurfers to Melacca, from where we took a ferry to Dumai(Indonesia).
We recommend to use couchsurfing in Malaysia so much, as it is definitely one of the best ways of truly learning about Malay every day life, culture, delicious (and quite spicy)food and making new friends. Where is the fun in getting from one spot to another by prearranged tours and sleeping only in hostels... That is not traveling - that is Tourism... :)
If you need more information about Couchsurfing in Malaysia, you are welcome to contact us by Facebook.
If you need a place to stay somewhere in Batu Pahat region, we can help you to contact Mahommad.

We spent 3 days in Kuala Lumpur as the first stop of our South-East Asian adventure across Malaysia, Borneo and Bali. We really had a blast in KL!
Overnight is a travel and food show for today’s traveler and we’ve been working on this web series for 4 months now. In today’s time hungry world, people want to try and experience so much in so little time. In fact, we discovered that most people travelling around Asia would spend on average 36 to 72 hours in any given capital city. So we decided to the same thing. Overnight will go through 5 large Asian cities (Taipei, Saigon, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Seoul) and will attempt to show you what you can do during those precious few hours you have in the metropolis. From drinking, eating, discovering new cultures all the way up to clubbing. Overnight’s got you covered.

Taiping Perak, Malaysia [4K] - World #3 most sustainable city
Taiping, Perak - Malaysia
#3 most sustainable city in the world
(Video overview Taiping City from morning to evening)
Info:
Taiping has been recognised as among the top three sustainable cities in the world.
Touted as Peninsular Malaysia’s wettest town, Taiping was placed third, behind Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, and Vancouver, Canada in the Best of Cities category, which awards cities that show leadership in urban sustainability and in avoiding disruptive over-tourism.
The recognition was given during the 2019 Sustainable Top 100 Destination Awards at the International Tourismus-Börse (ITB) travel trade show in Berlin, Germany on Wednesday (Mar 6).
Taiping Municipal Council president Datuk Abd Rahim Md Ariff received the award.
He said he was happy and proud of Taiping's achievement.
“This is the first time we received a prestigious international award.
“This achievement is due to the hard work of the community and all relevant governmental agencies,” he said.
“The council always work hard to make Taiping a popular tourist destination,” Abd Rahim added.
Also present at the ceremony were Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu and state Tourism Committee chairman Tan Kar Hing.
Taiping waslisted as one of the 100 Sustainable Cities by Green Destinations in December last year.
The list, made available at greendestinations.org, s aimed at recognising efforts by authorities in the tourism industry that contribute a sustainable environment.
Green Destinations is a non-profit organisation which focuses on efforts to create sustainable tourism, leading global cooperation between experts, firms and academy institutions in 80 countries.

Balik Pulau - Penang
Balik Pulau - Penang.
(Shot with Mavic Pro 2 and Oslo Pocket.)
Balik Pulau is a town within the city of George Town in the Malaysian state of Penang.Located at the southwest of Penang Island, it is also the administrative centre of the Southwest Penang Island District.
The agricultural town of Balik Pulau was established in 1794 by the British East India Company. To this day, the economy of Balik Pulau still relies heavily on agriculture; Penang's most famous produce, including nutmegs, cloves and durians, are grown and harvested in the town. These have also contributed to the town's growing tourism sector; Balik Pulau's reputation for its wide variety of durians, for instance, attracts hordes of tourists between May and August each year.
While Balik Pulau, and by extension, the western part of Penang Island, is generally seen as quieter in comparison to the bustling city centre on the other side of the island, urbanisation has also reached the town in recent years, with more residential developments being planned for this part of Penang Island.

secrets of YONG PENG
We explore the backlanes of Yong Peng, a quaint little town in Johor, to discover its most famous food. Going off the beaten tracks, we found the famous Lui Cha and other attractions found here.We had been told that there was a stall selling the best Lui Cha which is a Hakka dish, and to find it we had to go off the beaten track, into the small lanes. At the end of the trip we came to the Traffic Lights Cafe, which is on the main road . It serves many dishes and has a wide array of kuehs.
