Life in Canada l Gates Park in Port Coquitlam l Canada l 2018 Travel Vlog
Welcome to ☀AAround☀ Channel, guys =D
Taking a walk in the park makes us happier! How about u?
▷ Gates Park: The amenities at Gates Park are almost too numerous to count. It’s multiple sports fields (including an artificial turf field) make it a mecca for local teams and regional tournaments. There are courts for tennis and other raquet sports, a playground, picnic tables, the Traboulay PoCo Trail, and more. Port Coquitlam recently dedicated a ball field in Gates Park as Bird Field, in honor of Donna and Walter Bird’s legacy to minor baseball in the city. Gates Park also features public washrooms, changerooms, meeting facilities, and a concession operated by Pajo’s. Gates Park was formerly known as Reeve Park.
▷ Port Coquitlam: The Tri-Cities area is to the east and north-east of the City of Vancouver, and is made up of three municipalities: Port Moody, Port Coquitlam and Coquitlam. The area brings together Port Moody's railway heritage, Coquitlam's golf and wilderness recreation, and Port Coquitlam's revitalized city centre and riverside trails, providing plenty of interesting options for visitors to experience.
At the centre of Port Moody, an easy 30 minutes by car from downtown Vancouver, is a compact business district, where you'll find a variety of quaint shops and places to grab a bite to eat. Nearby Rocky Point Park is a popular spot, with shoreline trails to stroll. The city's railway heritage is celebrated in an annual festival and a heritage railway station survives as a museum. The surrounding area offers a variety of outdoor recreation opportunities, such as Belcarra Regional Park—home to great beaches, hiking trails, picnic areas and a host of water activities. In the park you'll also find the Buntzen Lake Reservoir Recreation Area, a perfect day trip destination for families.
Getting out and into nature is easy in Coquitlam, with over 70 local parks including the 176-hectare (435-acre) Mundy Park Forest. Interested in playing one of the premier golf courses in the region? There's exceptional golf and amazing views at Westwood Plateau Golf & Country Club. Coquitlam also has a thriving arts and culture scene, and the past is evident with the preservation of a number of historic homes in the area. Maillardville, home to British Columbia's oldest francophone community embraces its roots with a museum, art gallery and an annual arts festival.
Port Coquitlam, known as the city of rivers and mountains is a thriving community between the Pitt and Coquitlam Rivers. Both rivers provide aspiring anglers with a chance to drop a line and try their luck. A revitalized downtown maintains a village-like atmosphere; anchored by its original 1913 city hall, the plaza offers an interesting range of shops, restaurants, cafes and craft stores. While the Colony Farm Regional Park's lowland marsh provides sanctuary to birds and wildlife, the PoCo Trail's 24-kilometres (14.9-miles) is popular with walkers and bike riders.

British Columbia, Canada 7 Sisters Trail
The 7 sisters Trail - uphill with way too much weight in my backpack - sorry about the breathing :))
The largest tree is about 9 feet across and probably 2500 years old.
Cultus Lake is a popular spot for boating, fishing etc.
The Seven Sisters Trail is a short hike in the Cultus Lake area to a grove of old-growth Douglas fir trees. There once were seven of the enormous trees, however as they reach their elder years, some have fallen and there are only three that remain standing today. The trees are located within a small loop and their sheer size are impressive.
Begin your hike as the trail heads uphill quickly and into the forested area. The trail passes through a 2nd generation growth forest, lush with greenery and lichen. Cross a small wooden bridge and continue hiking as the trail weaves its way up and around a small hill.
Later you reach some wooden boardwalks and a BC Parks sign with information about the trees. This marks the beginning of the small loop as you are standing next to the first of three Seven Sisters that are still standing. Walk up the wooden steps to your left as it follows next to one of the fallen trees. Continue walking around the short look, looking for the huge Douglas fir trees.
