Northern Italy (Part 02): Lake Garda & Lake Como // June 2018

For our nine-day trip to Northern Italy in June 2018, we began our adventure in the Dolomites and ended it in Lake Como. During our time exploring the Italian Lakes (Como & Garda), we based ourselves in Varenna. It was the perfect low key town to explore the surrounding area. From hiking to ferry riding, Italy continues to be its picture-perfect self.

Sunrise on Lake Como | Tremezzo, Italy

We only had a few hours to spend on Lake Como so we made the most of them.

We stayed in Tremezzo at a hotel right on the lake. Before the sun came up over the mountains on the east side of the lake, we explored our area. Then we drove up to Menaggio to watch the sun rise over the peaks of the mountains and cast amazing shadows and sun rays across the lake.

If you've never been to Lake Como, we highly recommend it. It's only an hour drive north from Milan and it's a whole new level of beauty.

Neste pequeno video apresentamos Malgrate. Parámos em Lungolago di Malgrate, uma zona renovada com uma excelente área de lazer onde se destacam o relvado e o espelho de água. Do outro lado do lago já é possível observar Lecco.

We stopped at Lungolago di Malgrate, a renovated area with an excellent leisure zone where the lawn and the water mirror stand out. On the other side of the lake you can already see Lecco.

A Water Taxi Ride From Bellagio On Lake Como, Italy

Taking a water taxi from Bellagio on Lake Como to a restaurant in Sala Comacina for lunch. Taking in the beautiful views of the Italian Lakes

On the way we look at some of the beautiful villas of Lake Como including the Villa Carlotta and gardens in Tremezzo. Villa del Balbianello which can be seen in the bond film Casino Royale and the Villa la Cassinella which you can rent for about €164,000 a week!

We end up at the lakeside restaurant Locanda La Tirlindana, Sala Comacina where we have lunch and fight off the ducks.

A sua localização privilegiada no centro do Lago Como, num penhasco sobre Varenna, permite observarmos a quase totalidade do lago. Espaço muito bem cuidado e com algumas obras de arte ao longo do percurso que se enquadram perfeitamente na paisagem! Imagens soberbas pelo que a visita a este castelo é obrigatória!

EN// What a fantastic view! It is from those places that we arrived and say UAUU! Its privileged location in the center of Lake Como, on a cliff above Varenna, allows us to observe almost the whole of the lake. Space very well taken care of and with some works of art along the route that fit perfectly in the landscape! Superb images, so the visit to this castle is a must do!

Varenna is a comune (municipality) on Lake Como in the Province of Lecco in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 60 km north of Milan and about 20 km northwest of Lecco. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 882 and an area of 11.2 km².

The municipality of Varenna contains the frazione (subdivision) Fiumelatte, home to Italy's shortest river.

Neste video encontra imagens do percurso entre Nesso e Careno, consegue sentir a beleza do mesmo. Sendo a estrada principal que liga Bellagio a Como, não deixa de ser uma estrada estreita e com muitas curvas, a passagem por Nesso retrata isso mesmo.
