Driving from Salina, KS to Denver, CO via I70
I made it almost half way across Kansas last evening, and then a good night sleep in Salina, but Kansas is one wide state, so still have a long way to go to make it to Denver and Boulder Colorado. Feeling good. Looking forward to seeing the Rockies!!!
43:56 View of Pike's Peak (Thanks, John M.)
My Sony HXR-NX100 rode shotgun on a tripod shooting at 4 fps. The tripod was held in place using bungee cords giving it I nice smooth feel, even on bumpy roads. I also used this same camera to shoot various scenes around the country, and to interview folks.

Popular culture[edit]
On July 21, 2008, Stephen Colbert made a comment on The Colbert Report about John McCain making a campaign stop in Canton, Ohio, and not the crappy Canton in Georgia.[13] The comment resulted in a local uproar, which prompted Colbert to apologize for the story during his July 30, 2008, show.[14] This began a running gag on the show in which he would apologize to one town and make several jokes at the expense of another town named Canton then repeat the cycle a week later. He went on to insult Canton, Kansas[15] (drawing the ire of Kansas governor Kathleen Sebelius[16]), and Canton, South Dakota,[17] before turning his attention to Canton, Texas, on August 12, 2008.[18] After apologizing to the people of Canton, South Dakota, Colbert called Canton, Texas, an incorporated outhouse and one steaming pile of longhorn dung.[19] This jab at the Texas town had been predicted by Governor Sebelius at the end of her July 31, 2008 remarks.[20] In response to Colbert's comments, a Canton, Texas, city councilman joked that he wanted Colbert to come there so he could mash his nose.[21] On October 28, Colbert turned his attention back to Canton, Ohio, after Barack Obama made a campaign stop there, forcing Colbert to find it crappy.[22]

S01 E01: Omgosh Oshkosh
It wasn’t looking good. The early 2018 US storm season set new records for the lack of tornadoes - but we’d already committed to the trip. Roll on 23rd May 2018. Starting off in Hays, KS and choosing a spot in NE Colorado on the edge of a slight risk, we anticipated some weak discrete supercells before they merged into a larger system. What we actually got, was a whole lot more. Cue unexpected RFD’s, storm sandwiches, hail-core punches, freight trains, stunning structure and cows.
