Lake Padden is a lake located in Bellingham, Washington, United States. It was named for a homesteader in the area, Michael Padden. The park is popular during the spring and summer, and features numerous picnic areas as well as playgrounds. There are also numerous trails located around the lake and throughout the surrounding forest that are used for hiking and biking. A public golf course is located along the eastern shore. A significant piece of geography besides the lake itself is a 1000-foot ridge that separates the lake from I-5 to the south.

Known also as the Golden State Highway and The Main Street of California, US 99 was important throughout much of the 1930s as a route for Dust Bowl immigrant farm workers to traverse the state. Larrabee State Park is a public recreation area located on Samish Bay on the western side of Chuckanut Mountain, six miles south of the city of Bellingham, Washington. It was created in 1915 as Washington's first state park. The park covers 2,748 acres and features fishing, boating, and camping as well as mountain trails for hiking and biking. It is managed by the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission.

The Nooksack River is a river in the northwest part of the U.S. state of Washington. It drains an area of the Cascade Range around Mount Baker, near the Canada–US border. The lower river flows through a fertile agricultural area before emptying into Bellingham Bay and, via the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the Strait of Georgia, the Pacific Ocean. The river begins in three main forks, the North Fork, Middle Fork, and South Fork. The North Fork is sometimes considered the main river. Including the North Fork, the Nooksack is approximately 75 miles long. All three forks originate in the Mount Baker Wilderness.

Downtown Bellingham Wa Things To Do - One Of The Healthiest Cities In Washington

Subdued Excitement In Downtown Bellingham Washington. Downtown Bellingham has many restaurants, clubs and bars to keep you entertained or at least distracted day and night. Many club venues have live music at night and on weekends.
The Downtown area near Bellingham's waterfront has an upscale urban village look and feel that has been intentionally fostered to help local businesses compete with other larger shopping corridors like Guide Meridian Ave. and Bellis Fair Mall.

Over the last decade there have been many new high rise condominiums built near downtown giving the area hundreds of residents happy to stroll the streets and frequent downtown businesses.

We stopped for some local Woods Coffee, before walking into downtown to grab some food at the famous Bellingham Farmers Market. From there we continued wandering all day!
