The West Coast Expressway, WCE  (Malay: Lebuhraya Pesisiran Pantai Barat or Lebuhraya Pantai Barat), LPPB or LPB, is an expressway that will be built on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia. It will connect Taiping, Perak to Banting in Selangor. The expressway will be built by Konsortium Lebuhraya Pantai Barat (KLPB) led by Kumpulan Europlus Berhad the project majority owner and Road Builder Group a subsidiary of IJM Corporation Bhd. Approval was given by the government for the construction to begin from 20 December 2013 and to be completed within five years.[1] The project was delayed, and construction began in May 2015
Construction of the expressway will be divided into eleven packages. Works for the first five packages will commence in April 2014 of which three packages are in Selangor while the other two in Perak. The stretch between Tanjung Karang to Hutan Melintang and Teluk Intan to Kampung Lekir will be on the existing stretch of Federal Route 5, while the stretch between Parit to Siputeh will be on the existing stretch of Federal Route 73 which both will be upgraded as part of the expressway. The expressway will have a closed toll system like North–South Expressway.
The northern terminus of the expressway will be located after the border limit of E1 Changkat Jering Interchange on the North–South Expressway Northern Route. The southern terminus will be located at the Banting Interchange on Federal Route 31. The expressway will also have interchanges to Trong, Beruas, Changkat Cermin, Sitiawan, Lekir, Teluk Intan, Hutan Melintang, Sabak Bernam, Sungai Besar, Sekinchan, Tanjung Karang, E25 Kuala Lumpur–Kuala Selangor Expressway at Assam Jawa, Kapar, E30 New North Klang Straits Bypass, E1 New Klang Valley Expressway at Bukit Raja, FT2 Federal Highway Route 2 at Klang, Sri Andalas, E5 Shah Alam Expressway near Jalan Kebun and E26 South Klang Valley Expressway.
