Kebler Pass is a high mountain pass in Colorado. The Colorado Department of Transportation refers to the traversing road as Gunnison County Road 12. The eastern terminus of GCR 12 is Crested Butte. At its western terminus, GCR 12 intersects State Highway 133 near the southern end of Paonia State Park. It is a mostly gravel road and is closed during the winter months. A few portions of the road near the top of the pass have been paved. In the summer, the road is accessible by all passenger vehicles.

On our first day in Western Colorado, we explored the Gunnison National Forest. We hiked to Judd Creek Falls and then headed up to the gorgeous Emerald Lake. On our way, we saw a few guys making the most out of a little remaining snow by building a snowboard ramp and ripping some sweet flips off of it. We found some great things to do near Gunnison and Crested Butte Colorado.

Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park in western Colorado is one of hidden treasures of the North America. This canyon is called Black because some parts of the gorge only receive 33 minutes of sunlight a day. The canyon is incredibly steep, it’s more than 2000 feet tall and it is probably one of the deepest and narrowest canyons I have ever seen in my life.
