Pirates and Lost Treasure of the Caribbean

Transcript:
From the beginning of Spanish conquest in the New World, billions of dollars of silver, gold, emeralds and pearls were loaded in ships for the voyage to Spain. Hundreds of these ships were taken by pirates, and almost as many foundered on shoals or were sunk by storms.
Just as long as there have been ships carrying bounty and pirates raiding them, so too have their been shipwrecks and sunken treasure.
The Anegada Passage, a principal route between the Virgin Islands and the Leeward Islands into the Atlantic, is a treacherous channel lined with hidden reefs which has snared many a vessel over the years.
Today, people are still finding these shipwrecks, sometimes discovering treasure in the depths. For more than forty years, Bert Kilbride, based on Saba Rock off Virgin Gorda, has been diving in these waters. He has been designated Her Majesty's Official Receiver of Wrecks, and he knows, perhaps better than anyone, what lies beneath the surface.
Kilbride interview, showing artifacts, talking about dive sites, suspected sites, etc. end with...
The Kilbrides run a dive operation that will take visitors to explore any number of shipwrecks in the area, to see for themselves what lies in the deep.
Pigeon Point Beach Tobago Trinidad and Tobago
Pigeon Point beach is located on the south-western end of Tobago and is about 20 minutes from Scarborough and 5 minutes from the Crown Point International Airport. It is one of the most popular beaches in Tobago.
The sand at Pigeon Point is one of Tobago’s finest with a seashell tint and the water”s colour, a mixture of bright turquoise and teal. This beach is well known for the constant hub of activities partly due to its proximity to the ANR Robinson International Airport and the major hotels which surround it.
Along the roadside, before entering the Pigeon Point park, one will find dive shops, tour operators, road side vendors selling an assortment of beach paraphernalia, locally made crafts and even cold coconut water.
Tobago travel - Canoe Bay
During our latest trip to Tobago, we decided to visit places that we'd never been to. Canoe Bay is definitely one of the spots that we recommend visiting. Although it's a paid beach ($15 TT as of Dec 2018), it is unique in that it has lots of shaded, grassy areas for a wonderful picnic overlooking the water.
The waves are gentle and Canoe Bay has a very shallow ocean floor. You can walk out into the ocean with the water coming up to your waist (great for kids and non-swimmers). There are no onsite restaurants or bars, so we highly recommend bringing your own food and drinks in a cooler. There are bathrooms to change and showers to wash off the sand after enjoying your visit :)
Canoe Bay is also available for rental should you have any large events to plan that need a lovely backdrop of the ocean!
