Places to see in ( Cantabria - Spain ) Torrelavega
Torrelavega is a municipality and important industrial and commercial hub in the single province Autonomous Community of Cantabria in northern Spain. It is situated roughly 8 kilometres from the Cantabrian Coast and 27.5 kilometres from the capital of the Autonomous Community, Santander, half way between the Principality of Asturias and the Basque Country. The rivers Saja and Besaya flow through the city.
It is the capital of the comarca (county, but with no administrative role) of Valle del Besaya which includes also composed of the municipalities of Cartes, Los Corrales de Buelna, Cieza, Arenas de Iguña, Bárcena de Pie de Concha, Molledo, Anievas and San Felices de Buelna.
Its highest point is 606 metres and its lowest point is 12 metres.
Torrelavega is a regional center for industry and transport, and its weekly livestock fair is famous in Spain. Its stadium is known as El Malecon. The Cave of Altamira, famed for the prehistoric paintings found inside, is about 10 kilometers northwest of the city.
Torrelavega was founded at the end of the thirteenth century by Garci Lasso de la Vega I (the elder), Adelantado Mayor of the Kingdom of Castile in the name of King Alfonso XI of Castile. Its current name is due to the contraction of the original eponym of Torre de la Vega. The Castle or Tower of the Vega's was built by Leonor Lasso de la Vega, daughter of Garci Lasso de la Vega II, the younger, and mother of the Íñigo López de Mendoza, marqués de Santillana in order to administer the tax and privilege due in the family's territory.
The name of the comarca, Valle del Besaya is derived from the Astur-Leonese Bisalia, which in turn derives from the Celtic, Bis-salia (the second Salia or Saja) from the two rivers that flow through the city. Torrelavega was an important agricultural hub in the Kingdom of Castile since medieval times. Continuous population growth and industrial development enabled Torrelavega to attain city status in 1895 from the Queen Regent Maria Christina of Bourbon, Princess of the Two Sicilies. The city is home to the main seat of the Spanish anarcho-syndicalist labor union the Confederación Nacional del Trabajo.

Places to see in ( Asturias - Spain ) Llanes Beach
Places to see in ( Asturias - Spain ) Llanes Beach
There are no exclusively, 100% nudist beaches in Llanes or, as a matter of fact, in Asturias. All of them are mixed, some small, some large and everyone tans together happily. But Tayada (also known as La Atalaya beach) is special for a lot of reasons. One being that Llanes is an attraction for tourists. If you are looking for a small and safe beach in Llanes, perfect for the entire family then Buelna is the perfect choice. A 50 meters long beach of fine golden sand, Buelna is mostly known for the peculiar looking rock facing it and the landscape around it.
Locals and people familiar with this beach call it Antilles. Maps and guides of the Llanes coastline might show it as Cué beach so be warned that they are the same beach. You might look at the pictures of Andrín and think you have seen them somewhere else before, but let me tell you that what you remember seeing might be pictures of its “twin sister” called Ballota beach.
Completely missing from official maps and guides, Portiellu is a secluded nudist beach hidden in Llanes really close to the Toró beach. Why the secrecy? Well, I don’t think there is any secrecy when it comes to the official tourism board, is just that Llanes has so many beaches that only the better preserved ones. Troenzo is the one of the popular beaches belonging to the beautiful village of Celorio. If you are familiar with the municipality of Llanes then you probably know that a lot of the most popular beaches of this municipality actually concentrate in Celorio and they are too many to add them all here.
I must confess I was a bit lost when I arrived at Celorio for the first time and saw Las Cámaras beach and then the maps telling me I was supposed to see here the Palombina beach while (with low tide) I was actually seeing 2 beaches not one. Finding La Entrada beach is rather easy, most of the beaches in the municipality of Llanes being quite accessible, with parking, amenities, some of them urban and surrounded by bars, restaurants and accommodation.
Everybody knows the Ballota beach. Actually everybody knows the beaches of Llanes and Ballota is one of the most beautiful there (don’t mistake this Ballota with the Ballota beach in Cudillero, they couldn’t be more different) Getting to Ballota is easy. Everyone, Asturian or not, knows Torimbia, the most popular nudist beach of Asturias. Its shape and winding access make it impossible to forget and once you were here, you will remember it forever. Why is that? Torimbia is a typical shell-shaped beach of white sand (and boulders right under the cliffs), 500 meters long.
Borizu is one of the beaches of the village of Celorio, in Llanes, Asturias. If you have ever been to Llanes then you know that this is a big thing. If you haven’t been here before, you are about to find out why with just mentioning the village of Celorio it should be a good. This place is famous for more than one reason, so let’s take them one by one: first of all because Guadamía is a beautiful and rather unusual beach, second of all because it belongs to 2 municipalities (LLanes and Ribadesella) and the third reason is that the cliffs surrounding this beach are truly spectacular.

Stone Island ( Isla de la Piedra ) Mazatlan Mexico
music: Beachfront Celebration by Kevin Mac Leod, incompetech.com, While in Mazatlan we went with our friends horseback riding on Stone Island and we loved it. It was a beautiful place, great food, a lot of fun....Mazatlán (Spanish pronunciation: [masaˈtɬan] ( listen)) is a city in the Mexican state of Sinaloa. The city serves as the municipal seat for the surrounding municipio, known as the Mazatlán Municipality. It is located at 23°13′N 106°25′W on the Pacific coast, across from the southernmost tip of the Baja California peninsula.
Mazatlán is a Nahuatl word meaning place of deer.[1] The city was founded in 1531 by an army of Spaniards and indigenous settlers.[2] By the mid-19th century a large group of immigrants had arrived from Germany. These new citizens developed Mazatlán into a thriving commercial seaport, importing equipment for the nearby gold and silver mines. It served as the capital of Sinaloa from 1859 to 1873. The German settlers also influenced the local music, banda, which is an alteration of Bavarian folk music. The settlers also established the Pacifico Brewery on March 14, 1900.
With a population of 438,434 (city) and 489,987 (municipality) as of the 2010 census, Mazatlán is the second-largest city in the state. It is also a popular tourist destination, with its beaches lined with resort hotels. A car ferry plies its trade across the Gulf of California from Mazatlán to La Paz, Baja California Sur. The municipality has a land area of 3,068.48 km² (1,184.75 sq mi) and includes smaller outlying communities such as Villa Unión, La Noria, El Quelite, El Habal and many other small villages. Mazatlán is served by General Rafael Buelna International Airport.

Mazatlan seawall is a 13 miles or 21 km length considered the longest in the shortest. The Malecon is made up of 9 sections ranging from the area of the historic centre to the North of the city. Sunsets, views of the sea and landscapes enjoyed from this destination make this area the most recommended. I walked it during Mazatlan Carnaval 2014.

Trzeci najwiekszy karnawal w swiecie Mazatlan (Meksyk)- parada 2014
Mazatlan’s Mardi Gras, one of the national biggest and best bashes, sees thousands of costumed revellers thronging the streets and beaches. It's a wonderful paradox that, five days before Lent, in a time of meditation and religious ceremonies when the pleasures of the flesh are put on hold - remember, Mexico's population is around 70% catholic- people literally fill the streets, letting their hair down in a non-stop party that ends the day before Ash Wednesday.
Mazatlan’s International Carnaval is a seven-day, multi-event affair with parades, floats and fancy dress balls. The first recorded Carnaval in town was in 1848 but it wasn’t until 50 years later than the event took its present form and the first Carnaval Queen was crowned. These days the “coronation” takes place at the baseball stadium accompanied by fireworks, confetti cannons and a popular concert.
Each evening Olas Altas is the perfect scenario for this all-singing, all-dancing “bacchanalia”, with concerts and sound and light shows. Feel the breeze on your body while enjoying vibrant music and interacting with the local people. This is the place to practise your banda and cumbia dance steps. The partying usually goes non-stop until 4 am, so make time for a siesta.
For those who prefer a more refined form of celebration, carnaval's activities include the famous poetry contest: Juegos florales, where the audience sits back and marvels at the verbal and intellectual skills of performers from sonnets to contemporary free forms. Plan your trip. For 2013, the carnival falls between February 7th and 12th.
