What to do in Guadalajara
Historically known for tequila and mariachi music, Guadalajara is Mexico’s second largest city. But today, it’s so much more than that. Trendy restaurants and shops line the streets in walkable and charming districts like Colonia Americana and Colonia Lafayette. Mod, boutique hotels like Love It Hotel and Casa Fayette welcome travelers with well-designed spaces and poolside cocktails.
In the center, take time to explore the tremendous Instituto Cultural de Cabañas, a Unesco World Heritage Site, with its rotating exhibits and beautiful,modernist murals by José Clemente Orozco. The bursting Mercado Libertad is a huge market downtown with not only produce and food, but also crafts, jewelry, shoes, belts, lucha libre masks, and some random mystical potions.
From delicious street food like the torta ahogada (drowned sandwich) and tacos al pastor to modern fusion food at places like Anita Li and Hueso, Guadalajara is poised to be a great foodie destination in Mexico.
For a taste of more culture and some shopping, spend an afternoon in lovely Tlaquepaque, which is just south of Guadalajara proper. Stroll the cobblestone streets, ducking in and out of the many cute shops for handicrafts and galleries like that of famous Mexican artist and sculptor, Sergio Bustamante.
For a fun night, head to a Lucha Libre show, the infamous professional wrestling known for colorful masks, high-flying moves, and cheesy, telenovela-style plot lines.
Taking a ride on a tequila train is one of the most fun and unique things to do here. We rode the Jose Cuervo Tequila Express to the town of tequila, the home of Jose Cuervo. With tastings, food, and music along the way, it's a super fun experience and you'll learn more about tequila than you ever thought.

Great Puerto Vallarta Scuptures on the Malecon & Around Town
Ever since 1960 when the city commissioned a sculpture from Rafael Zamarripa, the town added more and more artists and their beautiful creations to the Puerto Vallarta boardwalk and other places around the city.
Rafael Zamarripa was only 18 years old when he sculpted the Boy on the Seahorse sculpture that ended up on Los Muertos Beach at Las Pilitas, a big storm washed the original sculpture away in the 1970s, so they requested a new one, a bit bigger, to put on the Puerto Vallarta malecon (so it wouldn't wash away so easily), where it was placed in 1976. The original was found again so it was left there on the beach too.
Over the years the Puerto Vallarta malecón has added more and more sculptures, becoming an open-air art gallery promenade.
On this PV Video you'll see the following sculptures, but there are many more:
1- Vallarta Dancers, a sculpture by Jim Demetro, inspired by the local traditional Mexican dance troupe (Xiutla).
2- Boy on the Sea Horse by Rafael Zamarripa, the original sculpture on Los Muertos beach.
3- The Friendship Fountain by James Bottoms and Octavio González Gutiérrez, a sculpture that symbolizes the friendship with the sister city Santa Barbara CA.
4- Ándale Bernardo by Jim Demetro, in the Zona Romantica (Old Vallarta), a great photo op for you and especially your kids.
5- Triton and the Mermaid by Carlos Espino, a beautiful classical style sculpture on the boardwalk of Puerto Vallarta.
6- The Blue Shrimp, located next to the restaurant of the same name.
7- Boy on the Sea Horse by Rafael Zamarripa, this is the largest version and is on the boardwalk, a symbol of the city.
8- A collage of photos Roundabout of the Sea by Alejandro Colunga, Los Millennia by Mathis Lidice, Ignacio L. Vallarta by Miguel Miramontes Carmona and The Fisherman by Ramiz Barquet
9- The Unicorn of Good Fortune by Aníbal Riebeling, which you will find on the Malecon in Puerto Vallarta Mexico and finally
10- Nostalgia, another iconic city sculpture by Ramiz Barquet on the seafront of Pto Vallarta.

Places to see in ( Madrid - Spain ) Puerta de Alcala
The Puerta de Alcalá is a Neo-classical monument in the Plaza de la Independencia in Madrid, Spain. It is regarded as the first modern post-roman triumphal arch built in Europe,[1] older than the similar monuments Arc de Triomphe in Paris and Brandenburg Gate in Berlin.
It was a gate of the former Walls of Philip IV. It stands near the city center and several meters away from the main entrance to the Parque del Buen Retiro. The square is bisected by Alcalá Street, although the street does not cross through the monument, and it is the origin of the Alfonso XII, Serrano and Olózaga streets. Its name originates from the old path from Madrid to the nearby town of Alcalá de Henares.
Madrid in the late 18th century still looked like a somewhat drab borough, surrounded by medieval walls. Around the year 1774, king Charles III commissioned Francesco Sabatini to construct a monumental gate in the city wall through which an expanded road to the city of Alcalá was to pass, replacing an older, smaller, gate that stood nearby. It was inaugurated in 1778.
During the 2010 MTV Europe Music Awards, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Katy Perry and Linkin Park were featured live from the Puerta de Alcalá. Performing in front of close to 100,000 fans, Perry performed her single Firework, with a pyrotechnics display. Linkin Park performed a set which was shot in its entirety for MTV World Stage, to be broadcast on MTV platforms around the world on 10 December 2010.
The song La Puerta de Alcalá has also been covered by Mexican singer Anahí and Spanish singer David Bustamante and is included in her sixth album, Inesperado. On 2 June 2017, the closing ceremony and concert of WorldPride 2017 took place at Puerta de Alcalá.
