LAKAWON TRAVEL GUIDE 2019 | Under 1K Budget |Watch in HD
I took the earliest flight to Bacolod from Clark International Airport at 6am.I arrived at the new Bacolod-Silay Airport around 7am then I walked outside the airport to hail a trike (60php whole trike good for 6 pax) goin to Silay plaza where we are going to ride a bus bound for Cadiz, then I told the conductor that im alighting at brgy.Burgos stop-over terminal. There, you would see yellow tricycles, find the one bound for Cadiz Viejo(150php special trip).
After around 15minutes, you will arrive at cadiz Viejo port.
You will see a small office where tourist are in queue for registration and payment of:
entrance fee 180
boat ride 150
terminal fee 120
you may or may not get a reloadable cash card for cashless transactions at the Island resort. But i think there is corkage fee if youre goin to bring your own food.
After securing your payments, you will be issued a boarding pass, then just wait for your name or group name to be flashed on the screen or be called by the staff when the boat have arrived.
It was rougly 15 to 20mins, of sailing to cross the sea goin to the island. during my trip, the waves are huge, theres a few which made me anxious wondering if our not so maintained boat will make it through the rough waves.Praise God we made it.
Upon reaching the port, you will have to walk to a wood bridge which will give you a good view of Lakawon itself. It was relaxing as the breeze welcomes you.
The prices of food are tolerable, it's not cheap but considering the serving size, its just right. I like it that they have many food options to choose from (well atleast during my stay). they have a different counter for fresh seafoods and a separate drinking bar which is cool!
TawHai (means relaxed in local dialect) is the name of their floating bar which is the biggest in Asia.
For 285 pesos, you may enjoy the spectacular view while drinking your fave beer in the middle of the ocean, given that you have signed a waiver.
I wasn't able to visit it personally due to my limited time since I have to travel back to Bacolod city to check in to my next Airbnb accommodation, also, the waves are a lil rough and its showering and its not that inviting to spend 285 php for that especially I dont drink(anymore).
The only set back for me was the price of accommodation, it was so expensive for the type of the rooms they offer. I have contacted them to inquire for a tent rental, but it was discontinued however they allow tourist to bring their own camping tents but you have to pay 300 pesos PER PERSON for the tent space. ( It was off season yet it was pricey
So I opted to book a beautiful accommodation in Bacolod city which only cost me 20 USD.
