A Trip To Sudbury Ontario
Trip to Sudbury
It was a sudden plan, I just wanted to move out of the day to day life. I opened my mac book pro and logged in to google map. Keeping the pointer on a random location (it turned out to be Ishpatina ridge).
The day was dec 11th 2017, I packed all the needed things for this trip, left home around 6pm as I needed to cover a lot of destinations in coming 2 days. As I reached the station (Union station, Toronto), got to know that the train was late for almost 5+ hours which was a big disappointment.
The train arrived at 2am in the night by the time I was hungry and dead sleepy. Being a vegan is a serious thing, you do not get the right food at the right time. I had 5 packets of Dad's cookies and 3 packets of crunchy peanut butter clif bar packed from home which are really good and for vegans.
Unfortunately the train did not have wifi.
Arrived at Capreol at 11 am. The temperature was -23 degrees c, It's a small town with not many things to see. A bar, a car rental shop, an old church and museum which was closed due to bad weather.
I met this guy in train who was also from Toronto and was heading to Alberta, guess what I had kept one of my cookies pac outside after eating 2, and he ate those without even asking me. Great to meet people.
Had oat meal and green tea for breakfast, walked for 30 minutes to find something worthwhile for seeing. Missed my bus twice to Sudbury. Finally after waiting for a long time I had a smile on my face to see the bus coming towards me. It was so cold that my feet were numb, removed shoes and changed socks in the bus. The girl before me was like what is this guy even doing. she was probably in high school heading to home after a long day.
6 pm and I was in Sudbury. Booked a hotel which near the bus stand in the hope to travel more during the evening. Buy the time I got fresh and ready it was 8:00pm, the place where I crashed was inside a mall and almost all the stores were closed. Ordered 2 plates of fried rice food from a chinese restaurant and finished both, oh my.
I couldn't go out due to bad weather, the temperature dropped to -29 degree c in the night. The next day 13th dec was my birthday and I was supposed to be in Ishpatina ridge that day. Seeing the weather condition I can say that I made the right decision not to leave for Ishpatina ridge, It would have taken a hell out of me to survive in mountains in that condition.
Early morning I checked out of the hotel and travelled towards big nickel, for my bad day that was closed too, it was only opened for special group of visitors which definitely was not me in any sense. I must say the road to big nickel is not a good one, it's really a bad choice of constructors who made those. You are supposed to walked through the highway and in that ice, snow, cold, moving vehicles.
I got a ride towards it, but couldn't get one while getting down. Stood in -26 degrees c for almost 15+ minutes and those shoes and gloves of mine. Never going with such things to a cold place again. I was hungry, cold and the road was too slippery with frozen ice on it. Took the decision and started walking slowly. That was one of my worst days. A walk which takes not more than 3 minutes took me 10+ minutes to cover and I was in serious cold.
Reached deluxe hamburgers just down the hill and red rose it was which saved me. I was still hungry and but there was not much I could eat. I had finished everything that I had on me. The bus stop was 2 feet in snow and I was on the street for almost 30+ minutes, this bus had passed it's arrival time by 25+ minutes. I took a ride to Sudbury bus stand and no talking there after.

Grand River Walter Bean Trail Clarica Autumn Gold, Ktichener Ontario
Mid-November denotes the end of southern Ontario's autumn gold leaf spectacle. This slide show, set to Bill Douglas's beautifully lilting composition 'Elegy', presents the last arboreal flame of colour along the historic Grand River's Clarica trailway, part of the Walter Bean Trail in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. A quote by Neale Donald Walsch and Robert Frost's inimitable poem, 'Nothng Gold Can Stay', provide philosophical bookends for the colour and monochrome images.

Ontario Abandoned Places - Kivi Road House
An absolutely amazing house to explore, everything untouched for years. Documents dated back to the 1960's. This house used to belong to my high school art teacher. It was put up for sale and demolished around 2010.
