Back in Italy but this time we go all the way to the beautiful south!
Took a flight with Ryan air from Rome straight to Lamezia Terme were I met with my cousins.
We drove for an hour until we reached Gioia Tauro a small town by the coast in Reggio Calabria.
This is one of the most fantastic places I've ever been to.
Unique beaches with mountains and amazing food are the key to an spectacular vacation.
We visited the beaches of Gioia Tauro, Scilla and Grotticelle. Grtticelle beaing my favorit because of the landscape and the boats for rent that cost only 10€!
Do not doubt it for a second and take one of them so you can take it away from the beach and enjoy the amazing landscape in front of you.
Be careful with the jellyfish as this waters are the perfect environment for them. yeah, I got stung by one. LOL
I'm so thankful with my cousins and especially Salvattore and his family for letting me stay at their house and share those amazing days with them. I'll be back guys. I promise!

Giovanni hosted the ten of us, international photographers and videomakers to visit his town, Cariati, to make reportages about the area. Giovanni acted as our tour guide and allowed us to taste many sorts of local dishes, wine, handmade icecreams. We learned the Tarantella dance. We visited a 1500 year old medieval tavern, a wine and oil production company (igreco.it), and an olive farm in the nearby town of Terravecchia. We even got to watch Francesco, a 3 stars restaurant chef, cooking fresh pasta, and to learn how to make gnocchi without eggs! The local food is (quasi) organic by tradition. There are pizzas with exquisite mushrooms and aubergines (I didn't film). The salads and fruits are heavenly! The sky is always blue. The weather (31° minimum) and the scenery are fabulous.

J'ai fait partie d'une équipe de 10 photographes internationaux, accueillie à Cariati par Giovanni à l'hôtel Antonio, en juin 2012. Le projet ( était d'aboutir à des reportages photos et des vidéos pour promouvoir la ville de Cariati comme destination touristique. Giovanni nous a permi de goûter à toute sorte de plats locaux, de vins et de glaçes sans lait dites diététiques. Nous avons visité entre autre une entreprise de production d'huile d'olive et de vins (igreco.it), ainsi qu'une ferme dans la commune voisine de Terravecchia. L'agriculture est biologique de par le quasi respect de la tradition. Le ciel était toujours bleu. La température pas plus basse que 31°, les paysages magnifiques.

The whole world knows the famous Riace Bronzes, which are exhibited in the National Museum of Reggio Calabria and are an important vestige of Magna Graecia, a period that deeply marked the history of this region.
