5 day trip in the beautiful Italy
Our vacation to Italy was absolutely superb, we visited Bergamo, Selvino, Lecco, Follonica, Massa Marittima, Firenze.
In August, we landed at Milano Orio al Serio airport, where our gorgeous trip to Italy began. Our first stop was in Bergamo, a city split in two Citta Bassa and Citta Alta.
Citta Alta, the old and tall city of Bergamo, has offered us beautiful walks along the narrow streets paved with cubic stone.
Near Bergamo we visited the wonderful villages of Albino, Selvino, Lecco where we had the most beautiful panorama on Valle Seriana. We also enjoyed a wonderful mountain hike in the surroundings where we could admire the superb mountain waterfalls with a cristal clear turquoise water. We stopped for a few moments in San Pellegrino Terme, where the famous San Pellegrino mineral water is extracted.
Italy is a country with 740 km of coastline in the Adriatic, Ionian and Tyrrhenian Seas, we could not miss a few days at sea so we headed for the Tuscany region. Tuscany has welcomed us with the natural beauty of the region given by fields cultivated with olives and evergreen hills. Here, we have also experienced traditional Tuscany cuisine on farm restaurant.
At Follonica beach we enjoied the sea and beautiful waters, Follonica being awarded Bandiera Blu (Blue Flag) 7 years in a row for beach and seaside cleanliness. We also went to Castiglione della Pescaia, considered an exclusive tourist destination for the quality of the sea and of beaches.
After spoiling ourselves in the waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea a few days, we decided to visit Firenze, the capital of the Tuscany region and the place of the Italian Renaissance. The city of Firenze is recognized for its history, especially for its arts and architecture, being rightly considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Being the birthplace or home of many outstanding personalities such as Dante, Leonardo da Vinci, Amerigo Vespucci, Michelangelo, Donatello, Galileo Galilei, Guccio Gucci, Roberto Cavalli, etc.
The historic center of Firenze attracts millions of tourists annually and was declared by UNESCO a World Heritage in 1982, containing many elegant squares, Renaissance palaces, academies, parks, gardens, churches, and monasteries, museums and art galleries, of which the most important The Uffizi Gallery, which receives about 1.6 million tourists per year.
Michelangelo Square is the place where we ended our trip to Italy, a place that allowed us a great panorama over the entire city of Firenze. From here you can capture the most beautiful photos of Ponte Vecchio, the oldest bridge in Firenze, located in the lower part of the Arno River.
Our first visit to Italy made us fall in love with this country. Surely we will return to the Italian vacation.

Il castello di Serralunga d'Alba (Piemonte)
Continua l'avventura...
