Seafood restaurant on the banks of the Bangkok River, Eating Australian Emu in Bangkok
If you are looking for an authentic Riverside Thai culinary experience with an emphasis on seafood then you can do no wrong in paying a visit to Baan Klang Nam 2.
Some girls from Meaw’s Uni Days decided to have dinner In celebration of One of them (Gow) coming over for a holiday from California USA So they decided to meet for evening dinner at Baan Klang Nam 2 seafood restaurant on the banks of the Chao Phraya river. a fantastic restaurant that is close to the Wat Pariwat BRT station that interlinks with Bangkok's great public transport system
THE FOOD
As is typical in this part of the world we all tucked into a feast or local Thai delight which kept arriving at our table. Delicacies ranged from satay, spicy salads, deep fried fish, prawns and crab meat presented in different ways. Here the food is simply presented in informal Thai style We had the barramundi or Asian sea bass with Lemon and Chilli, and it was easily the best-tasting fish we've ever eaten in a long time. All of the fish is extremely fresh and seasoned wonderfully. and yes they had Emu on the Menu and I did try some not to my liking though
SERVICE
The service is also good and fast. The staffs are friendly and very quick in providing service. However, possibly because of too much work load, some of them are not smiley! However, it does not mean they are not good. Their behaviour was definitely without any complaint whatsoever
VIEW
You can choose the open air terrace but also possible to eat inside with aircon. Can be busy on the weekends so book if you can. Lovely riverside evening dinner experience here the river is not so congested with so many crossing boats of all shapes and sizes as closer into the city and it is relatively peaceful. The gentle breeze coming off the river helped to keep the sticky, hot temperatures down a little.
PRICE
You will pay a bit more than other restaurants, but they serve hearty portions perfect to share with your dining partners. So it is really good value for money and a place you will not forget in a hurry

Walk around Hua lamphong, bangrak,Bangkok / near Chinatown area
#Hualamphong
Formerly, the place where backpackers stayed was Khaosan Street.
Hua lamphong is popular in recent years.
There are many Hostels and Hotels, and if you walk a little to the north you can find China Town(yaowarat road).
Compared to Khaosan Street, transportation is very well and gradually getting popular.
However, I think that there are few information in this area and some feel uneasy about security.
This time I took a walk through the Hua lamphong Area to know the local situation.
(There is no concern for security, but there was also a lot of traffic and I felt danger.)
