Capulin Volcano National Monument is a U.S. National Monument located in northeastern New Mexico that protects and interprets an extinct cinder cone volcano that is part of the Raton-Clayton Volcanic Field. A paved road spirals around the volcano and visitors can drive up to a parking lot at the rim. Hiking trails circle the rim as well as lead down into the mouth of the volcano. The monument was designated on August 9, 1916 and is administered by the National Park Service. The visitor center features exhibits about the volcano and the area's geology, natural and cultural history, and offers educational programs about volcanoes. Ten percent of the 33,300-acre site has been developed to include fifteen shooting ranges, an administration building, a cafeteria, a museum, a library, classrooms, and full-service hookups for 175 recreational vehicles. The park features a large 8,200-acre reservoir on the Canadian River that is home to various fish species including largemouth bass, catfish, crappie and walleye. The state-owned Ute Dam creating the reservoir was completed in 1963 without federal funding. The park elevation is 3,900 feet above sea level. The park is located 2 miles west of the town of Logan, New Mexico.

U.S. Route 64, New Mexico, United States, North America

U.S. Route 64 (US 64) is an east–west United States highway that runs for 2,326 miles (3,743 km) from the Outer Banks in eastern North Carolina to just southwest of the Four Corners in northeast Arizona. The western terminus is at U.S. Route 160 in Teec Nos Pos, Arizona. The highway's eastern terminus is at NC 12 and U.S. Route 158 at Whalebone Junction, North Carolina. U.S. 64 runs through Farmington, Taos, Angel Fire & Eagle Nest, Cimarron, and Raton. As it runs through Raton, it is co-signed with U.S. Route 87. It continues through to Clayton, where U.S. 87 is replaced by U.S. Routes 56 and 412. The three routes then run concurrently into Oklahoma. Twenty-eight miles north east of Cimarron is Raton Municipal Airport. It is one of the roads on the Trails of the Ancients Byway, one of the designated New Mexico Scenic Byways. At Angel Fire, U.S. 64 runs past the Vietnam Veterans Memorial State Park.

Scariest Places on Earth (Dorsey Mansion, New Mexico)

A 19th century mansion located in New Mexico is investigated by a Navajo Shaman. A cleansing ceremony is performed where human remains were once found. This is one of the earliest productions of the SPOE series. Though kinda quirky and stupid, this show actually paved the way for all of the rest we see on TV today. Coincidentally, paranormal and ghost hunting programs has become quite popular over the past 10 years.

Boating to the U.S. Clearing US Customs By Video Phone. Clayton, NY. Ep73

Ep73. In this episode of Cruising Off Duty, we take our sailboat to Clayton NY and clear into US customs from our boat for the first time using a Video Phone. In theory it's a very easy process, but we had some issues with this phone connection.

We also are travelling with a Buddy Boat. Carol, a solo sailor we knew from our days on the Ottawa River, joined us on this trip to the US. She had cleared in many times before so it was nice to have someone with experience to show us the ropes.

We will then take you on a walking tour of Clayton NY. We spent our 2 week vacation travelling various ports on the US and Canadian sides of Lake Ontario and Clayton was one of the best in terms of it being a pretty, clean town, with lots of shops, bars and restaurants to keep you occupied when you want to leave your boat and go stretch your legs. We didn't have both folding bikes yet at this stage of our trip, but we will certainly go back to Clayton and this time bike the area.
