Hiking Shenipsit Trail, Shenipsit State Forest, Connecticut
Hiking the Shenipsit Trail in -- what else? -- Shenipsit State Forest, in Connecticut. I started at Sodom Road on CT-190, in Tolland County between Somers and Stafford Springs, south to CT-140, climbing all 300 ft. of Soapstone Mountain along the way. It was very green, but the #flowerporn was unfortunately Rated G. The next day, it was off to Stafford Motor Speedway for an Endurance Karting race!

Garlands demolition.wmv
A walk around the old Garlands hospital when it was partly demolished. Now, most of the buildings in this clip are gone. If, like me, you have worked or been treated there, this clip will be packed with memories. Its a pity they knocked it down, the quality of the old Victorian stone buildings was excellent. It could have stood for hundreds of years to come. The old psychiatric hospitals did have many good aspects, as well as bad ones.
The Town of Brattleboro, Vermont
Brattleboro (), originally Brattleborough, is a town in Windham County, Vermont, in the United States. The town is located in the southeast corner of the state, along the state line with New Hampshire. The population is 11,765, according to the US Census Bureau's 2014 estimates. It is the most populous municipality along Vermont's eastern border, the fourth largest town in the state (trailing Essex, Colchester, and Bennington in population), and the seventh largest municipality in Vermont overall when including the cities of Burlington, South Burlington, and Rutland. Brattleboro is situated on the west bank of the Connecticut River at the point where Vermont's West River flows into it.
Part of my Where I've Lived series. My current town of residence. I''ve lived here since April of 2015.
