The Colville National Forest is a U.S. National Forest located in northeastern Washington state. It is bordered on the west by the Okanogan National Forest and the Kaniksu National Forest to the east. The forest itself also contains Little Pend Oreille National Wildlife Refuge and the Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area.

The Little Pend Oreille National Wildlife Refuge is a wildlife preserve, one of the national wildlife refuges operated by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service. The refuge is located east of Colville, Washington, along the west slope of the Selkirk Mountain Range. It lies mostly in eastern Stevens County, with a small part extending eastward into western Pend Oreille County. It is the only mountainous, mixed-conifer forest refuge outside Alaska and the largest in Washington state. Wildlife found in the refuge include numerous songbirds, bald eagles, elk, black bears, timber wolves, cougars, moose, beavers, and white-tailed deer. Public uses include hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, and horseback riding.

Silverwood Theme Park is an amusement park located in northern Idaho, United States, near the town of Coeur d'Alene, approximately 47 miles from Spokane, Washington on U.S. Route 95. Owner Gary Norton opened the park in June 20, 1988. Originally, the park included a small assortment of carnival rides, a main street with shops and eateries, and an authentic steam train that traveled in a 30-minute loop around the owner's property. Schweitzer Mountain Resort is a ski resort in the northwest United States in northern Idaho, 11 miles northwest of Sandpoint. Located in Bonner County in the Selkirk Mountains, it overlooks Lake Pend Oreille to the southeast with views of the Bitterroot and Cabinet mountain ranges. The ski area is approximately 45 miles south of the Canada–US border. Schweitzer Mountain has a summit elevation of 6,400 feet above sea level with a vertical drop of 2,440 feet . There are 92 named runs and open bowls on Schweitzer's skiable area of 2,900 acres , and the average annual snowfall is over 300 inches . The cost of a gallon of gas by Colville Washington is around $1.71 a gallon. We filled up at 'Race Track' Gas Station for $1.69 a gallon.

Last year Canadians made 56 million visits to shop in the US.
About three-quarters of Canadians live within 160 kilometres of a border crossing and take advantage of shopping opportunities in the U.S. with single-day and overnight trips.

With the recent drastic drop in the Canadian dollar to around $.80 to the US - does it still pay to shop in the US?

Hwy 20, riding into Colville, Part 1, WA

Heading westwards on Highway 20 and beginning the descent into the Town of Colville on a rather hazy day. We begin passing the Colville Municipal airport area at 2:00 minutes, you can just see the end of the runway to the left behind the fence at 2:10 minutes. Towards the end of the video we are passing the main buildings of the Colville Valley Concrete Corporation seen to the right.
