DOLOMITES VAL COMELICO THE SEASON OF COLOURS
EN - The Season of Colours - Val Comelico, is an emotional picture of the nature and landscapes of the Val Comelico: wonderful valley in the extreme north of the Veneto Region, attached to the East Tyrol (Austria) to the border of Carinthia and connected to the South Tirol, in the same national borders. A valley extremely varied, even in the continuity of the alpine nature: in fact here are simultaneously the vertical rock formations typically of The Dolomites and soft hills covered with green meadows and pastures, typical of the Tyrolean valleys, giving to the landscape of the Val Comelico an unique harmony. Arriving in Val Comelico in the alternative season to that here very long of the snow and consequently of the white, the first thing you notice are the intense colors. That's why we wanted to call this videofilm The Season of Colours. Another thing is the purity of the places and the dignified simplicity of villages and people: a real treasure for those seeking a moment of truth! The Val Comelico deserves to be known and appreciated much more, even for this.
Ecco perché abbiamo voluto intitolare questo videofilm “The Season of Colours”.

Clock Tower, Lucca, Tuscany, Italy, Europe
The Clock Tower of Lucca (or tower of the Hours, in dialect dell'Ore Tor) is located in Via Fillungo street corner dell'Arancio and, with its 50 meters high, is the tallest of the 130 towers in the city from the Middle Ages to the present. The construction of the tower dates back to the medieval period, around the thirteenth century. Later it belonged to the families of Lucca best known as Quartigiani, Several, Cristofani, Sesmondi and Ceci. In 1390 the General Council of Lucca decided to create a watch bonum, et sufficienter aptum well distinguentes tempus for horas, the purpose of which was leased the tower, given its central location. After some consolidation work is entrusted the implementation of the mechanism to the most important goldsmith Lucchese time Labruccio Cerlotti. The tower, which was acquired by its Cerlotti only in 1471 it was purchased by the City. Only in 1490 was placed a bezel. In this way, the hours were also visible as well as audible through the chimes. The tower is characterized by a slender body with two single below the cell, in correspondence of the room where it is a view of the mechanism with manual winding watch. The interior staircase of 207 steps is wooden. The clock itself, regulated by a mechanism in 1754, the work of the Geneva-Louis Simon with the collaboration of the Lucchese Sigismund Caturegli, has a dial with Roman numerals redone at the time and the needle shaped with unique star in the center; is covered by a protruding eaves. The largest bell announces the hours from one to six, the Roman, and the two smaller bells command quarters, were cast from Lucca Stefano Filippi. Beyond it lies the belfry, jutting through the support of some shelves, where there are four huge arched windows, from which you can enjoy a great view of the city. Today the tower is open to the public and was the subject of restoration before the Jubilee of the millennium. The tower is topped by a weathervane iron bearing the motto Libertas, which was located on the flags of the Republic of Lucca and the date 1754. The vane original is on display at the classroom of the Botanical Garden, now that this is a copy recently. The Tower of hours is linked to the legends of Lucida Mansi, the woman who sold his soul to the Devil to stay beautiful and young. The devil, however, would be back after thirty years to require payment of the debt. At the expiry of the Thirty Years Lucida Mansi, on the night of August 14, 1623 climbed the tower, breathlessly ran to stop the bell, which was about to blink the hour of his death. At midnight the Devil would take his soul. But the legend that Lucida not reached in time, the mechanism, he could not stop it and the Devil took his soul.
