Our very last stop on our social media powered exploration of Canada and the United States took us to the remote northern territory of Nunavut in Canada. The very new territory is little known by most North Americans, so we set out to explore and share our findings for your behalf. Watch as we walk around the city of Iqaluit (Nunavut's capital city) and discover all sorts of interesting and sometimes quirky things.

Amazing Trip to Ross In Andaman and Nicobar Islands
Ross Island is an island of the Andaman Islands. It belongs to the South Andaman administrative district, Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The island is situated 3 km (2 mi) east from central Port Blair. The historic ruins are a tourist attraction.
After Archibald Blair's survey of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands in 1788, a settlement was established at present day Port Blair (then called Port Cornwallis). In 1792 it was shifted to the Northern harbour (present day Diglipur) which was also christened Port Cornwallis (the former became Old Harbour). But, that settlement was abandoned in 1796 because of the high mortality rate. Between 1789-92, Blair established a hospital and a sanatorium at Ross Island.
From 1942 to 1945, the island was occupied by the Japanese. The Government House became the residence of the Japanese admiral for three years (from March 1942 to October 1945). It was during this period that Subhas Chandra Bose, who took the help of Japanese in his fight against the British, stayed at the Island for a day in December 1943. Netaji also hoisted the national tricolor at the top of the Government House. The Japanese too left their imprint on the island which stand in the form of bunkers used as watch points to safeguard the Island from any invasion.

Charlotte is the largest city in the U.S. state of North Carolina, the seat of Mecklenburg County, the second largest city in the Southeastern United States, just behind Jacksonville, Florida, and the third fastest-growing major city in the United States.[3] In 2014, the estimated population of Charlotte according to the U.S. Census Bureau was 809,958,[4] making it the 17th largest city in the United States based on population. Charlotte is home to the corporate headquarters of Bank of America and the east coast operations of Wells Fargo, which among other financial operations makes it the second largest banking center in the United States.[7] Among Charlotte's many notable attractions, some of the most popular include the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League (NFL), the Charlotte Hornets of the National Basketball Association (NBA), 2 NASCAR Sprint Cup races and the NASCAR All-Star Race, the Wells Fargo Championship, the NASCAR Hall of Fame, Carowinds amusement park, and the U.S. National Whitewater Center. Charlotte Douglas International Airport is a major international hub, and was ranked the 23rd busiest airport in the world by passenger traffic in 2013.[8]
Nicknamed the Queen City,[9] Charlotte and its resident county received its name in honor of Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, who had become queen consort of Great Britain the year before the city's founding. A second nickname derives from the American Revolutionary War, when British commander General Cornwallis occupied the city but was driven out by hostile residents, prompting him to write that Charlotte was a hornet's nest of rebellion, leading to the nickname The Hornet's Nest.
Charlotte has a humid subtropical climate. Charlotte is located several miles east of the Catawba River and southeast of Lake Norman, the largest man-made lake in North Carolina. Lake Wylie and Mountain Island Lake are two smaller man-made lakes located near the city.

July 8, 2017 - Want to see where I chose to stay for my three nights in Halifax? A great little deal on Expedia directed me to the Halliburton House Inn, also known as the Halliburton Hotel.
The Halliburton is a boutique hotel set up in three heritage townhouses on the southern fringe of downtown Halifax - and I really liked it. It had an older, classier feel, and I loved the loft in my room - and free parking was a definite bonus, even though the parking lot was kinda small (though I was never left out when I needed a parking spot)!
I'd definitely recommend staying there. I never got to check out their in-hotel restaurant but from all the reviews I've read online, it's pretty solid, too.

Blue Licks Battlefield
The Battle of Blue Licks, fought on August 19, 1782, was one of the last battles of the American Revolutionary War. The battle occurred ten months after Lord Cornwallis's famous surrender at Yorktown, which had effectively ended the war in the east. On a hill next to the Licking River in what is now Robertson County, Kentucky (but was then in Kentucky County, Virginia), a force of about 50 American and Canadian Loyalists along with 300 American Indians ambushed and routed 182 Kentucky militiamen. It was the worst defeat for the Kentuckians during the frontier war.
