Çorovodë, also written as Çorovoda is a town and a former municipality in Berat County, Albania. At the 2015 local government reform it became a subdivision and the seat of the municipality Skrapar. The population at the 2011 census was 4,051. The name of the town derives from the Slavic for black water. It was the seat of the former Skrapar District. The river Osum passes through the city. Upstream it forms canyons and caves which are the highest and the longest in Albania. The river provides opportunities for kayaking and other aquatic sport.

  • 1. Osumi Canyon Corovode
    The Osum is a river in southern Albania, one of the source rivers of the Seman. Its source is in the southwestern part of the Korçë County, near the village Vithkuq at an altitude of 1,050 metres . It flows initially south to the Kolonjë municipality, then west to Çepan, and northwest through Çorovodë where it flows through the famous Osum Canyon, Poliçan, Berat and Urë Vajgurore. It joins the Devoll near Kuçovë, to form the Seman. The discharge of the river is reported to vary between 5.11 m3 /s and 74.11 m3 /s.
