It is located near Burnsville in Yancey County, North Carolina, in the Black Mountain subrange of the Appalachians, and about 19 miles northeast of Asheville. Historic Crossnore, NC (THEN AND NOW) - A quaint town nestled near Grandfather mountain in North Carolina. The quaint downtown features a restored historic school, hospital and cafe'. All centered around a wonderful water fountain. Beautiful creeks, great views from Hawshaw Mountain, this area is up and coming! It was amazing during the early turn of the century..but the best of Crossnore is yet to come!
