Cub Run is an unincorporated community in Hart County, Kentucky, United States. It was also known as The Crossroads. There are several anecdotal explanations for how the place received its name; some involve stories of a bear cub running. In fact in southeastern jargon a run is a creek , and Cub Run is a creek which is a tributary of the Green River on the northern edge of Mammoth Cave National Park, and has its origin in the village of Cub Run. The species of cub is lost in history but very likely a bear cub given the proximity of other creeks such as Bear Creek and Bar Brook. 1. Holiday World & Splashin' Safari Santa Claus
Holiday World & Splashin' Safari is a combination theme park and water park located near Interstate 64 and U.S. 231 in Santa Claus, Indiana, United States. The theme park is divided into four sections that celebrate Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving and the Fourth of July with rides, live entertainment, games, and attractions. Holiday World is known for its three wooden roller coasters: The Raven, The Legend, and The Voyage, as well as for Thunderbird, a B&M launched Wing Coaster and The Howler. The safari-themed water park includes the world's two longest water coasters: Wildebeest and Mammoth, numerous family raft rides and water slides, two wave pools, a lazy river, two family tipping bucket water-play attractions, plus dedicated children's slides and play areas.

Synchronous firefly display brings visitors to Elkmont

The synchronous display of fireflies (Photinus carolinus) draws visitors to Elkmont each year. For 10 days this month, the National Park Service will run a trolley service to bring thousands of people to witness the stunning phenomenon.

This firefly is the only species in America that can synchronize their light patterns as part of their annual mating ritual.
