Connecticut is one of the most charming of all the American states, known for its rich history, its academia, its beautiful autumns, and its sunny summers by the beach.
With a rustic mix of coastal towns and rural havens, there is a lot to love about this area of New England.
Unlike many US states, Connecticut has access to the coast; calling all surfers, sand lovers and beach bums!
Being on the Atlantic Coast the weather can be harsh at times but when the sun shines over Connecticut it is glorious.
From New Haven to Mystic there is always something to discover in Connecticut.
Mystic, for example, is famous for its Seaport museum which houses ancient sailing ships, and the Mystic Aquarium too that houses the Beluga Whales.
Regardless of whether you end up in this part of the world, there are certain baseline requirements that your new homestead must meet.
From access to good public schools for those with young children and easy access to commuter routes for those who have to travel to work, there is an awful lot to think about.
Connecticut has some of the most desirable real estate in the country, some of the best classrooms for your kiddos, low crime rates, and even more still, particularly in a select few places.

Hiking Hanging Rock State Park NC with Phantom 4 in 4K
I just went hiking while on vacation at Hanging Rock State Park in Danbury, North Carolina with my DJI Osmo and Phantom drone. It was a beautiful day outside and the Fall leaves were just starting to change. Two weeks later would have been much better for leaf color though. it was my first time using the Osmo outdoors in an active setting and the built-in microphone worked, but as you can tell the audio was very scratchy and weak. The movie required lots of audio editing and boosting. From now on I'll definitely have my Rode mic or even lapel microphone.

Road Trip #361 - Virginia State Route 8 South - US-58 to North Carolina State Line (Stuart)
We continue along Virginia SR-8, heading south. SR-8 briefly runs concurrent with US Highway 58 East, and then splits away and goes through the town of Stuart. SR-8 doubles as US-58 Business into town, and then SR-8 makes a right turn, avoiding the town center. An SR-8 business route runs through the downtown area. After leaving Stuart, we continue all the way to the North Carolina State Line where we conclude our video.

Pilot Mountain State Park - Pinnacle, North Carolina
A drive through Pilot Mountain State Park, located in Pinnacle, North Carolina. Pilot Mountain State Park is a beautiful and picturesque place to enjoy nature. The state park includes things such as camping, picnicking, hiking and rock climbing. There are miles of trails. The 49 site family campground offers no hookups, but water spigots are located throughout the campground. There is no dump station located at Pilot Mountain State Park.

Walking around Old Salem NC
Taking a tour around the Old Salem. We got to know the history and origin of the people in North Carolina. Nice old houses that are still in use until today with a plaque of who were the previous owners of the house and their occupation. Great history of colored and the Moravian people.

Cities
Hartford - The state capital.
Bridgeport - The most populated city in the state.
Danbury - Also known as Hat City, Danbury is home to Western Connecticut State University, Candlewood Lake, and many good restaurants.
Greenwich - Ranked the 12th greatest place to live, Greenwich is a quaint town with a great view of Long Island.
Mystic - This is one of the most common places to visit, due to the historic seaport and aquarium.
New Haven - the state's creative capital and home to the greatest amount of pedestrian life, top-rated restaurants and tourist attractions
New London - Home to the coast guard acadamy, New London has a historic view of Long Island Sound.
Norwalk - home to trendy SoNo with an active night life and The Maritime Aquarium
Waterbury - This is a small urban community with lots to do. Look for the Union Station Clocktower that overlooks the city.
Other destinations
Connecticut is rich with history, nature, art and beauty. Truly something for everyone. While many people are drawn each year to Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods Casinos, there is much more in this state. There are a number of beaches at the shore, state parks and forests throughout the state, and many smaller parks as well. Gillette Castle State Park in East Haddam is an excellent family destination. So is the Essex Steam Train and River Boat Ride in Essex.
