ROAD TRIP | Cottage by the Lake Ontario, Canada #1
Every summer my friends and I would plan at least one road trip over the long weekend. This year's cottage trip had to be the best one ever because it was certainly the best time I had. I challenge myself with my fear of water and not being able to swim. I not only went on canoeing and pedal boating. For me being the city girl, it is quite an achievement. The cottage itself is just gorgeous with the lake view right outside the door just few steps away. It was definitely the lifetime experience to be had with friends and family.

Great Getaways: Southampton Beaches - Bruce County, ON
from Great Getaways #10014 In Search of the Perfect Beach Bruce County, Ontario
[Travel Planner -
Stretching approximately 4 kms long, the only background music you'll hear on Southampton Beach are the gulls and the waves hitting the shoreline. Although the beach itself is sandy, the water bottom ranges from pebbly to rocky to sandy. Water shoes are recommended for the rocky sections. The water deepens quickly near the giant Canadian flag gracing the Southampton shoreline, so the best place for families and young children is down by the dunes, which is also the home of the only fast-food outlet on the beach, Gerry's Fast Food.
The General Hunter was a British Warship which fought in a numerous actions during the War of 1812 before being lost to the U.S. Navy in the famous Battle of Lake Erie. In 1816, it was shipwrecked on the Southampton beach where it still lies buried in the sand.

Huntsville Muskoka Canada Main street August 13 2010 Tom Thomson Mural
Muskoka G8 2010 Banner on the Town Bridge. Up along Main street a young Violinist, a French Immersion High School student performing various compositions and enjoying the sunlight. The Algonquin Theater where the Tom Thomson statue and Community Mural Project is underway this summer where everyone is welcome to place their aritistic brush strokes on the Mural hosted by Gerry Lantaigne. Gerry did the same idea with the G8 Leaders during the Summit and the Painting is hung at the Canada G8 Center with the very brushes used by President Barrack Obama. I like the Scene in the lastest mural, because of the White Tent that Tom Thomson would sleep in while out on the lakes of Algonquin Park.
