5. Orava Castle Oravsky Podzamok
Orava Castle , is situated on a high rock above Orava river in the village of Oravský Podzámok, Slovakia. It is considered to be one of the most beautiful castles in Slovakia. The castle was built in the Kingdom of Hungary in the thirteenth century. Many scenes of the 1922 film Nosferatu were filmed here, the castle representing Count Orlok's Transylvanian castle.Orava Castle stands on the site of an old wooden fortification, built after the Mongol invasion of Hungary of 1241. Its history since then reveals a familiar pattern of construction, destruction, reconstruction, fire, various ownerships and territorial squabbles. 6. Slovak Paradise National Park Spisska Nova Ves
Slovak Paradise National Park is one of the nine national parks in Slovakia, situated in East Slovakia. The National Park protects the area of the Slovak Paradise mountain range, which is located in the north of the Slovenské rudohorie Mountains . The National Park covers an area of 197.63 km2 , and the buffer zone around the park covers an area of 130.11 km2 ; 327.74 km2 together. Eleven national nature reserves and eight nature reserves are situated in the park. The park offers about 300 km of hiking trails, often equipped with ladders, chains and bridges. The Slovak Paradise contains about 350 caves, but only the Dobšinská Ice Cave, which is since 2000 a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is open to the public. The headquarters of the park are located in Spišská Nová Ves.

From Slovakia to Lisbon and back
11 000 kilometers + 96 days + 11 countries = our first EuroTrip from Slovakia to Lisbon across Austria, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, France, Spain , Portugal and back to Slovakia across Portugal, Spain, Gibraltar, Andorra, France, Monaco, Italy, San Marino, Austria. We traveled 11 countries during 93 days. We traveled by our car Opel Corsa 1.0 12V from 1997. We swam in the ocean, three seas and with dolphins, watched the Milky way and falling stars in Andorra, walked through a semi-desert, visited the most beautiful known and unknown European places, learned about their history, culture and customs, we were at the westernmost, south-westernmost and southernmost spot of Europe, had a little bacalhau party, we were a part of a celebration along with two million other people, we were fascinated by the view of African coast, highest European mountains, sunsets at the Atlantic, we fought off robbing monkeys, worn out 4 pairs of shoes and one set of tires, we learned how to surf, ate various kinds of different foods, stole the best tasting oranges from an orchard… and thousands of other things that can’t be described by a couple of lines. We did not use highways for 99% of our journey and we experienced off-road rides we will never forget.Out car survived everything and after 3 months, we came back home and proved to ourselves that if a person has a goal, he should pursue it even if he’s got nothing to begin with and it might seem hard… and maybe you should be a little bit crazy, too :)Music: Best Day Of My Life - American Authors
