10 Weird Creatures Washed Up On Shore
From mythical giant squids, to completely bizarre fish, these are the weirdest animals washed up on shore !
# 5 Conjoined Gray Whales
On January 5th of 2015, extremely rare conjoined grey whale calves washed up on the shores of Baja California, Mexico. The Siamese twins measured about seven to ten feet in length which is about 5-6 feet shorter than most gray whale calves. Although many people don’t see them, according to veterinarian Michael Moore, conjoined twins being born to large whales is not completely unheard of. However they’re rarely seen because of how hard it is to give birth and raise two whales out in the middle of the ocean. When they washed up, concerns were raised about it being the results of the nuclear fallout from the Fukushima plant meltdown but after testing the DNA of the twins no radiation was found.
# 4 Hairy Dolphin
In 2015, a really strange creature washed up onto the coast of Russia. It looked like a completely strange sight to see in the cold region as dolphins aren’t native to the region. The carcass was also very strange looking - although it seemed like a the remains of an Indian or Ganges dolphin it was also covered in what looked like fur. The reason that the dolphin ended up all the way over by Russia is because a sudden change in warm water currents allowed it to swim out to Russian Waters. However, the surge of warmth quickly fades and the dolphin is left in water that is too cold for it to survive in which leads to it freezing to death. Before this lost dolphin wound up on shore, it collected algae that began to grow on its corpse. That algae is what gives it the appearance of having fur.
# 3 Longnosed Batfish
This completely baffling creature washed up on a beach in Brazil for tourists to find. It has wings, legs, and a tail and a strange nose looking appendage which makes it seem like the product of a randomizer in a Create-A-Fish game. It is actually the Longnosed Batfish which, while unknown to many people, is documented by scientists. It has evolved jointed fins and legs which allow it to walk along the seafloor in search of food and a strange suction tube like mouth which allows it to suck up their meals. Even though it’s not exactly a new discovery, it's strange and shocking appearance is just more proof of how little we know about our own ocean.
# 2 Hairless Mystery Creature
In December of 2014, this partly decomposed, hairy creature washed up onto a beach in Santa Barbara. It was discovered near a dredge pipe on the beach after a major brutal storm. Because of the violent storm, it’s hard to understand where it could have originated from. This picture was taken by Josh Menard, a 19 year old snowboarder from Lake Tahoe. Menard described it as having the body shape of a pig, a fat stomach, and insanely large canines. This mysterious hairless creature has been left unidentified but some hypotheses include a dog and a wolf.
# 1 Millions of Velella velella
In 2014, millions of creatures colloquially called “by-the-wind sailors” were washing up along the west coast from California to Oregon. The jellyfish like creatures are scientifically known as Velella velella and are actually hydrozoans, not jellyfish. The creatures look like strange little half blown plastic bags. Because they float freely with water and wind currents they don’t really have control over where they go. They’re usually found free floating around in the Pacific Ocean but they can be found all over the world. Every few years a really big storm might throw currents way off and end up setting millions of by-the-wind sailors crashing into beaches. Sometimes, they can even be found in piles 2 to 3 feet high. They don’t sting when touched but they do emit a specific rotting smell when they pile on in the beach.

Did Man Film a UFO Hovering Over North Carolina Lake?
A North Carolina man is convinced he caught a UFO on camera after he recorded a stationary object hovering in the sky on his cellphone. The shaky video has gone viral since being posted over the weekend, and many are convinced the object is extraterrestrial, including the man who shot it, Jason Swing. “It was like nothing that I’d ever seen before that's why I thought it was not of this world,” he told Inside Edition. However, it's since been revealed the object was a Goodyear blimp.

Tri-Cities, Tennessee
Tri-Cities refers to the region comprising the cities of Kingsport, Johnson City, and Bristol and the surrounding smaller towns and communities in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. All three cities are located in Northeast Tennessee, while Bristol has a twin city of the same name in Virginia.
The Tri-Cities region was formerly a single Metropolitan Statistical Area; due to the U.S. Census Bureau's revised definitions of urban areas in the early 2000s, it is now a Combined Statistical Area with two metropolitan components: Johnson City and Kingsport-Bristol-Bristol.[1] As of the 2000 Census, the CSA had a population of 480,091.
