The Dwingeloo Radio Observatory is a single-dish radio telescope near the village of Dwingeloo in the northeastern Netherlands. Construction started in 1954, and the telescope was completed in 1956. The radio telescope has a diameter of 25 m. At the time of completion it was the largest radio telescope in the world, but it was overtaken in 1957 by the 76-m Lovell Telescope. As of 2000, it was no longer in operation in an official capacity. Since August 2009, the radio telescope has been national heritage site . Wildlands is an adventure theme park with four main areas: Jungola, Serenga, Nortica and Animazia. Jungola is jungle-themed and displays butterflies, tropical birds, large reptiles , ring-tailed lemurs, lar gibbons, small-clawed otters and Asian elephants. Nationaal Park De Hoge Veluwe is a Dutch national park in the province of Gelderland near the cities of Ede, Wageningen, Arnhem and Apeldoorn. It is approximately 55 square kilometers in area, consisting of heathlands, sand dunes, and woodlands. It is situated in the Veluwe, the area of the largest terminal moraine in the Netherlands. Most of the landscape of the park and the Veluwe was created during the last Ice Age. The alternating sand dune areas and heathlands may have been caused by human utilization of the surrounding lands. The park forms one of the largest continuous nature reserves in the Netherlands.

National Park De Hoge Veluwe, Otterlo in The Netherlands

What could be better than a nice walk in good weather? For some, perhaps it's the beach but for me the forests.
Already as a small child my parents took me to National Park De Hoge Veluwe. With my dad, we were in our belly with the binoculars, on the lookout for deer and mouflon. Dude that was so exciting.

Last Thursday, I spent several hours in the park, where you can walk and cycle. Eat a sandwich or a hot meal at Restaurant De Koperen Pot, it is located close to the park shop / information center.

Wat is er mooier dan een heerlijke wandeling bij mooi weer? Voor sommige is dat misschien het
strand maar voor mij zijn dat de bossen.
Als klein kind ging ik al met mijn ouders naar Het Nationaal Park De Hoge Veluwe, samen met mijn vader, op ons buik met de verrekijker, speuren naar herten of moeflons. Joh wat was dat spannend.

Afgelopen donderdag heb ik een aantal uren doorgebracht in het park, waar je heerlijk kunt wandelen en fietsen. Een broodje eten of een warme maaltijd is mogelijk bij Restaurant De Koperen Pot, het is gelegen bij de parkwinkel/informatiecentrum.
