Louisiana is a southeastern U.S. state on the Gulf of Mexico. Its history as a melting pot of French, African,
American and French-Canadian cultures is reflected in its Creole and Cajun cultures.
Famous for lively and colourful Mardi Gras celebrations that are full of soul, jazz music, distinctive foods and flavours, and for its many festivals all throughout the year,
Louisiana is also home to the world’s longest water-spanning bridge and the USA’s tallest state capitol.
Unfortunately, the weather in Louisiana is unpredictable, to say the least. Plan to experience all four seasons in just a few days!
Temperatures can vary wildly and while one day may be perfect beach weather, the following day could be wet and windy or shiver-inducing cold.
The laid-back lifestyle and rich diversity of the state make Louisiana a great place to live.
Louisiana is filled with some of the most amazing small towns and bigger cities in the country. It can be difficult to know exactly where it’s best to settle down.
But for those who have spent significant amounts of time in the city, there are certainly some places that stand out among the crowd.
Here are the 10 best places to live in Louisiana for 2018:
1. Lafayette.
2. Baton Rouge.
3. New Orleans.
4. Alexandria.
5. Mandeville.
6. Scott.
7. Bossier City.
8. Youngsville.
9. Inniswold.
10. Prien.

Congaree National Park (And The Trash We Saw)
Congaree National Park (And The Trash We Saw) - Not sure if the trash/garbage that we saw while exploring the Congaree National Park was from people intentionally or unintentionally leaving trash in the area or if they were brought there when the park floods. I think the park floods several times a year. Either way, it is sad to see trash in our national parks. We saw candy wrappers, water bottles, soda cans, etc.
Congaree National Park preserves the largest tract of old growth bottomland hardwood forest left in the United States. The lush trees growing in its floodplain forest are some of the tallest in the Eastern United States, forming one of the highest temperate deciduous forest canopies remaining in the world. The Congaree River flows through the park. About 57 percent (15,000 acres or 61 square kilometers) of the park is designated wilderness area. - Wikipedia
Congaree National Park is one of the least visited national parks in the National Park System.
WHO ARE WE?
We, Irwin and Victorina, left the corporate world and sold our furniture to go on an epic road trip of visiting all U.S. National Parks! Follow our journey - from letting go of our material possessions, preparing for the extended camping trip, and even the mistakes, joys, doubts and adventures we make along the way! We hope to inspire others to appreciate the beauty of Planet Earth.
Adventure begins in Feb 2017. We estimate this road trip will take us approximately 12 to 16 months. We know we will some amazing places and meet a lot of interesting people.
If you have an idea or suggestions for us for places to visit along the way, feel free to contact us!
NEW VIDEOS every Friday and Monday. If we miss a day, it is probably because we had no phone signal inside the park or we couldn't find any wifi access. If this is the case, we will upload our video as soon as we get any phone signal.
