East Jutland metropolitan area or Greater Aarhus is a geographic term for an area in Jutland and Funen, Denmark. The term denotes a functional coherent area linked by both infrastructure and labour across municipal boundaries. With about 1.4 million people living in the area it represents approximately 25% of the population of Denmark and is the second largest Metropolitan area after Greater Copenhagen. The region has 19 municipalities as of 2016. The area consist of Business Region Aarhus with a population of 960,000 to the north, and Trekantsområdet with 418,000 people in the south.

  • 2. Moesgaard Strand Aarhus
    Moesgård Beach is a public Blue Flag beach in Aarhus Municipality in Denmark. The beach is located in the southern outskirts of Aarhus in the Marselisborg Forests on the Bay of Aarhus in the suburb of Højbjerg. Helgenæs lies across the bay to the east, a bit inland to the west is the Marselisborg Deer Park and to the north is the Varna Palace. The beach area is some 1000 meters long and between 25 and 40 meters wide. It is a white sandy beach with occasional rows of boulders extending into the sea, for coastal erosion protection. Moesgård Beach is popular for sunbathing and swimming due to the shielding effects and scenic views of the nearby forests on the steep hillsides to the west.   • 9. Brabrandstien Aarhus
    Brabrand Lake is a lake in the district of Brabrand , west of Aarhus city, Denmark. The Aarhus River passes through Brabrand Lake and it is possible to canoe all the way to the inner city from here. The lake is oblong-shaped. Since 2003, Brabrand Lake has been steadily extended 3–4 km further west, with the new lake of Årslev Engsø . In 2001–2, it was politically decided to abandon the artificial draining of the meadows and as of 2013, Årslev meadow lake has a surface area of around 100 hectares . The total area including adjoining meadows and reed beds totals 240 hectares . It is hoped that Eurasian bittern and otter will find themselves a new home here with time.
