Our visit to the Barton Garnet Mine in North River, NY. I brought my own 1/4 mesh screen box and used that to sluice the dirt and sand. I found A LOT of garnet pieces.

Emerald Green Rocks On Route 49, Serpentine

My wife and I were on historical Route 49 above Mariposa, California, looking for Rocks and Minerals, and came across some Emerald green rocks that shine green when the sun hits it. Entering Dum Dum Junction: Sealdah Rajdhani, Kolkata Metro, EMU caught together

Video taken while making our daily journey from school back home.
The Bongaon Jn.- Sealdah EMU arrives at platform- 4 of Dum Dum Jn. around 5:05
in the evening. On the way, it passes through station Durganagar and Dum Dum Cantonment.
The train that crosses are the Canning- Hasnabad EMU, Sealdah- Duttapukur EMU and the
Queen of IR- 12313 Sealdah New Delhi Rajdhani Express. On the very end of the video, we could also see the Kolkata Metro giving a parallel action with our EMU while entering Dum Dum station from the Noapara
Rail Yard. Dum Dum Jn. is an important landmark in ER. Apart from being a Metro Railway Terminal, it is also a station, where tracks from 5 different locations meet, namely- i) Chord line from Burdwan Jn. via Dankuni Jn. ii) Main Line from Burdwan Jn. via Naihati Jn. iii) Bangaon and Bashirhat divisions (northern Suburbs) via Barasat Jn. iv) Lines from Kolkata Chitpur Terminal, Chipur Industrial Belt and southern suburbs (via Circular Railway section). v) Lines from Sealdah, southern suburbs (via Ballygunge section), Kidderpore docks and Budge Budge Industrial Belt. It has 5 platforms, 2 bye-pass lines, and 4 side lines just outside the platform yard.

Ruiny tajemniczego pałacu- niemego świadka śmierci Karola Marcinkowskiego. Część druga i ostatnia.

Klasycystyczny dwór zbudował w 1 poł. XIX w. przypuszczalnie hrabia Wiktor Łakomicki. Dwór był parterowy, w środkowej części z trzyosiowym, piętrowym ryzalitem i trójkątnym frontonem. W okresie międzywojennym wieś, w której znajduje się pałac była własnością Skarbu Państwa. Obecnie dwór jest w całkowitej ruinie, a otaczający go park bardzo zapuszczony.

W tym dworze bywał Karol Marcinkowski, lekarz, społecznik i polityk, m.in. współzałożyciel Towarzystwa Pomocy Naukowej, inicjator budowy Bazaru w Poznaniu. Podczas ostatniego swojego pobytu zmarł 6 listopada 1846 r.

Obiekt znajduje się obecnie w katastrofalnym stanie po pożarze w latach 80-tych. Pałac upamiętniony pobytem Karola Marcinkowskiego, lekarza i działacza pracy organicznej w zaborze pruskim. Spędził on tam ostatnie 4 miesiące życia i zmarł. Dla uczczenia Polaka wzniesiono obelisk przed pałacem (widoczny na miniaturce)
