Inside the Bourdelle Museum (Paris, France)
bourdelle.paris.fr
This is one of the many museums run by the Ville de Paris so is free, except for the temporary shows (if any). You can easily spend a couple of hours in here, and this would be of special interest to sculpture fans, but there are different media on display here. It is at 18, rue Antoine-Bourdelle in the 15th arrondissement of Paris, and the métros are MONTPARNASSE or BIENVENUE/FALGUIERE. Bus: 28, 48, 58, 88, 89, 91, 92, 94, 95 and 96. Gare Montparnasse and the Montparnasse Tower are nearby, and this is an area full of shops and businesses, with many restaurants -- fun!
This clip shows a beautiful portrait of a veiled woman, standing, and three works by Eugène Carrière are also shown here. The artist Bourdelle lived and worked here, and did writing (such as poetry), drawing (his pen and ink works are astonishing), painting and his sculptures are famous around the world. Anyone who appreciates Rodin will also want to visit this place, and there is a garden and courtyard -- from the former, you can see the Montparnasse Tower, and from the latter, you had hardly believe you are in the heart of Paris.
Bourdelle was a collector and taught many sculptors. Some of their work is shown here.
This place is really impressive, and almost anyone would find something of interest here -- even the furnishings and fixtures, and tools are interesting. Photos and videos are permitted throughout without restriction, except in the temporary show.

Man selling vermillion in India
An Indian vendor sells vermilion powder during Nanda Devi Fair in Nainital.
The name NAINA which means eye is derived from a temple to the goddess 'Naini Devi built on the upper edge of the lake and was destroyed by the landslip of 1880.
It was subsequently replaced by the present structure. The word Naina means 'Eyes' and 'Tal' means 'Lake'. The perimeter of the Naini Tal lake is of nearly 2 miles.
The word Naina is synonymous with Sati's eyes. Since then, devotees started visiting this temple. Once the devotee reaches the hill top, prasad can be bought from any of the various shops or it can also one's own offerings from home. After crossing the main gate, there is a big Peepal tree on the left side. On the right side of the temple there are idols of Lord Hanuman Ji and Ganesh Ji. After reaching the main entrance of the temple, there are two statues of lions.
Inside the temple, devotees have darshan of three deities. On the extreme left is Mata Kali Devi, the centre representing two Netras or eyes is Maa Naina Devi and to right side is idol of Lord Ganesh.
Though the temple is named after Naina Devi (another name for Sati), the biggest social occasion here is the festival held in honour of Nanda Devi.
The patron goddess of Kumaon hills and a local princess Sunanda Devi.
On the northern side of the lake is built a temple dedicated to Sati and is called the Naina Devi temple.
