Bloomington, Indiana Weekend Road Trip From Chicago | Travel Vlog & Scavenger Hunt
This month, I was so excited to partner with Visit Bloomington to showcase the city of Bloomington, IN - home of my alma mater Indiana University - by taking a fun weekend getaway from Chicago.
In this video, my husband and I hit the road after work on a Friday in mid-May, and journeyed four hours south (okay, five hours because of Friday traffic) to the city where we met as college freshmen.
As always, a return to Bloomington is a trip down memory lane. The city has changed and blossomed so much since we met there in 2006, and it’s exciting to see its growth every time we return!
For this particular adventure, we got to follow a scavenger hunt list of quintessentially fun Bloomington hotspots, courtesy of my partnership with Visit Bloomington. As part of our enthusiasm for B-town, we aimed to visit as many as possible over our two day trip!
I hope this video provides an entertaining overview of the variety of fun destinations and activities in Bloomington, and entices you to consider it for an easy weekend getaway!

On.. My USA Road Trip - Part 1 - Bellingham, WA to Mt. Shasta, CA
Hi there, it's been a while so I thought I'd update you on my journeys. :)
Since I last saw you I've been to the North-West corner of the U.S. on a working holiday. While I was there I tried to explore and capture a little bit of the culture on my i-phone for you all to see the differences from ours (certainly different from my Indian culture trip) in a kind of Video Diary format. My good friend Dan has edited together all the footage I shot and made a smooth travelogue split into three 1hour chunks. This is part 1.
0:00:00 - 0:34:29
In this part I show you what Bellingham and Fairhaven looks like on three different trips; first the green parts, then the towney parts, and finally I show you the main shopping district. I'll take you so see a labyrinth, to the sea, and to a few local cafes before we get underway South via rental car on our road trip.
0:34:30 - 0:54:13
This section is a gentle travelogue as we head South along the I5 through Washington State into Oregon and on into California. You'll see the wonderful scenery as I talk about America and the things which seem different about their culture. We also stop at a few camp sites along the way as this part took a few days. My guide on this journey is Elizabeth, who you see in the video. She organised my events and helped me distribute the posters. Thank You Elizabeth for making this possible. :)
0:54:14 - 1:12:39
In California I'll take you on a small tour of Weed before we get our first glimpse of Mt. Shasta ready for the eclipse the following day. Then we make our way up the mountain for the eclipse; first hanging with the tourists, and then away up the mountain.
NOTES:
. This is just a 'walkabout' glimpse; a sketch of the areas I visit. My shamanistic events don't feature prominently in these videos - even though they are going on between filming. If you'd like to book me I am of course available worldwide.
Louisville Kentucky
This is where I live. A short video driving to downtown Louisville and Indiana. The music is song I recorded a while back.
Perrysville Ohio USA
Perrysville was laid out on the 10th day of June, 1815, by Thomas Coulter. The community was named after Oliver Hazard Perry, naval commander during the War of 1812.
Johnny Appleseed fell in love with the area during his travels, and frequented the area often.
It's a good place to live.
Goodwill Outlet Store (Clearance Center) - Buy Thrift Store Goods by the Pound! - FULL TOUR (Phoenix
Here is a preview of the Goodwill Clearance Center (Outlet Store) in Phoenix, Arizona!
The place is kinda dirty and pretty brutal, but you can find some good stuff! Watch out for broken glass and random wetness lol! Bring glove! People can be rude and shove you, so remember to give them a good punch in the face as a reminder. Watch for kids rummaging your cart when you're not looking. Have fun!!
