Payette Lake is a natural lake, formed by glacial activity, situated in the upper drainage basin of the Payette River, which drains into the Snake River in southwestern Idaho. Outflow from the lake is regulated for irrigation purposes by a small dam completed in 1943. The normal maximum lake surface elevation of 1,520 metres above sea level is attained in July; a normal drawdown of 1.7 metres is completed by December. The lake surface area and volume, excluding islands, are 20.5 square kilometres and 0.75 cubic kilometres , respectively; mean and maximum depths are 36.8 metres and 92.7 metres , respectively; and shoreline length is about 36 kilometres . Hells Gate State Park is a public recreation area located on the southern edge of Lewiston, Idaho, at the Snake River's downstream entrance to Hells Canyon, the deepest canyon in North America. The state park was created by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to mitigate the construction of the Lower Granite Dam; the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation began leasing the site in 1973. The park's 960 acres offer trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding as well as opportunities for camping, picnicking, fishing, boating, swimming, and taking jet boat trips into the canyon. The park sits at the lowest elevation of any Idaho state park, at 733 feet above sea level.

Ponderosa State Park is a public recreation area occupying a peninsula in Payette Lake on the northeast edge of McCall in Valley County, Idaho, United States. The state park's 1,515 acres include a second unit, called North Beach, located six miles north of McCall at the northern extremity of the lake. The park has hiking and biking trails, guided walks, evening programs, beach, picnic area, and opportunities for skiing, snowshoeing, and wildlife watching.

Brundage Mountain Resort is an alpine ski area in the western United States, located in west central Idaho in the Payette National Forest. Brundage first opened 57 years ago in November 1961 and is 8 miles northwest of McCall, a twenty-minute drive in average winter conditions. The summit elevation of Brundage is 7,640 feet above sea level, with an overall vertical drop of 1,800 feet . Five chairlifts serve the 1,500 acres of primarily west-facing terrain, overlooking New Meadows, Adams County, and past the Snake River into eastern Oregon. The area's annual snowfall is 300–350 inches . The summit of Brundage Mountain straddles the county line with Valley County to the east, in which McCall lies. Last weekend we went down to Wyoming to find a bunch of things to do in Jackson Hole. There are lots of things to do in Wyoming and lots of Wyoming attractions but the little town of Jackson is a highlight.

There are a lot of options for lodging in Jackson. Out of all the hotels and motels, we stayed at the Wort Hotel in downtown Jackson, home to the Silver Dollar bar and the Cowboy Bar.

We hope this helps you decide what to do in Jackson or what to do in Wyoming in general. Have a great trip!

Jackson is a town in the Jackson Hole valley of Teton County, Wyoming, United States. The population was 9,577 at the 2010 census, up from 8,647 in 2000. It is the county seat of Teton County and is its largest town.

Jackson is the principal town of the Jackson, WY-ID Micropolitan Statistical Area, which includes Teton County in Wyoming and Teton County in Idaho.

The town derives its name from Jackson Hole, the valley in which it is located.
