Reunion Island Travel Guide
Reunion Island Travel Guide - Oh la la! After a long-haul flight, you step off the plane and you're greeted with a bonjour. Then you breakfast on croissants and chocolat chaud (hot chocolate). At first glance, Réunion is like a chunk of France teleported to the tropics. But beyond the Gallic panache, you'll soon realise it's a resplendent tapestry, which also blends Indian, African and Chinese influences.
Home to one of the world's most active volcanoes, snow-capped Piton de Fournaise, Reunion Island is a little known gem. This rocky, French-governed island off the coast of East Africa is easily explored by Les Cars Jaunes, yellow buses that link main settlements. The road into the mountains provides breathtaking scenery. Bike tours on rough back roads are an option for the brave and the extremely fit. Beyond the reach of cars, untamed village Cirque de Mafate shows the island's wildest side.

Reunion Islands |10 Reasons Why To Visit ?
Here are 10 Reasons Why To Visit The #Reunion #Islands
1. It is very easy to get a visa for travel to the island, which means that there is little to do in preparation for this trip.
2. There are numerous direct flights available to Reunion Island, and anyone that flies from France will find themselves on a domestic flight.
3. The active basaltic volcano of Piton de la Fournaise can be found on this island and it is quite the sight to see. When it is erupting, people can see lava pouring down the sides, and when it is not, everyone can hike it to see the crater and the volcanic plains.
4. Some of the villages on the island can be found inside large craters and they are begging to be seen by visitors. People can visit any of them, but Cirque de Cilaos is a popular one. There is only one road in and out of the crater and once inside, everyone will feel the temperature drop and see lush rainforests and waterfalls instead of ragged rocks.
5. There are one thousand kilometers of hiking trails on the island and they all lead through breathtaking areas with each one being more beautiful than the last. As people are walking along these trails, they will want to keep count of how many waterfalls they pass by, as there are so many on the island.
6. Divers will want to visit Reunion Island for the clear water, five hundred different fish species, and the one hundred and fifty different species of coral. Diving is easiest on the west coast. Superb underwater lava flows can see while diving on the east coast.
7. The island produces some of the best rum in the world and there is a museum dedicated to this delicious alcohol, La Saga du Rhum, in Saint-Pierre. The rum can be drank alone or with any number of self-blending herbs and spices.
8. Everyone must eat the traditional carri while visiting the island. It is an authentic Creole dish made with meat, fish, seafood or poultry and then garlic, tomatoes, onion, turmeric, cloves, and ginger is added. Other foods that must be eat include buttery pastries, curried lentils and dragon fruit.
9. The markets are a wonderful place to learn more about the local cuisine while also picking up some souvenirs. There are numerous markets on the island we recommend the Saturday market in Saint Pierre.
10. The weather on the island is quite tropical year-round and if it does happen to rain, it will be a light shower in the afternoon for a minute or two.
Anyone that hasn’t been to Reunion Island the above 10 Reasons Why To Visit The Reunion Islands will want to plan their trip there soon as this destination sounds like paradise in the middle of the #ocean!

The island of Reunion is of an unequaled richness, it is possible to live there unprecedented experiments that they are sporting, culinary, emotional or sensory. This is largely due to the history, the miscegenation of peoples and the preservation of the environment in which we live, unparalleled in the world.

Reunion Travel Guide
Reunion Travel Video Guide - Jutting out of the ocean like a basaltic shield cloaked in green, Réunion is a mini-Hawaii, with astounding geographical diversity. Within an hour or two, the landscape morphs from lava fields to lush primary forest, from jagged peaks to sprawling coastal cities. The West is Réunion's Riviera, a long string of beach suburbs and resorts towns, including glitzy Boucan Canot.
The pièce de résistance is Les Hautes & the volcano. Piton de la Fournaise is one of the world's most accessible active volcanoes and depending on nature's whims, you might even witness fiery-red molten lava. When the volcano has finished working its magic on you, there are horses to ride, majestic mountains to trek up in the Cirques, or paraglide from in St-Leu, drop-offs to dive from, big waves to surf, extinct volcanoes to fly over, and canyons to explore. But it's not all about nature, landscapes and adrenaline -- Réunion has its cultural gems as well, with stunning Creole architecture in cute-as-can-be villages, as well as colourful religious buildings and festivals.
I hope you liked this Reunion Travel Video Guide!
