The San Diego attraction, which is a sister property of the San Diego Zoo, offers dozens of fun tours through the park, from Segway and mule rides to overnight Roar and Snore safaris. It's also home to the Flightline Wild Animal park zip line tour, which is the longest in the Continental United States. One of the most popular San Diego attractions, the zip line tours are $70 (in addition to park admission).

Filled with over 39 trillion gallons of pure Sierra snowmelt and pushed a mile into the Californian and Nevada skies, Lake Tahoe is the USA’s largest alpine lake and one of the country’s oldest, year-round vacation playgrounds.
Lake Tahoe has forever drawn travellers to its shores, from the Native Americans who call this place Big Water, to the trappers, timber cutters and pioneers who followed.
When you’re ready for a little alpine magic, take the four-hour drive from San Francisco to the sunlit shores of Kings Beach. Set on Tahoe’s northern end, this beach was named after local card shark, Joe King, who used his winnings to develop some of the lake’s earliest lodgings. On the lake’s southern shore, is Pope Beach, where you’ll find another Tahoe institution, Camp Richardson.
From Pope Beach follow the bike path to the Taylor Creek Visitor Center. An open-air classroom for the entire family, the center features fabulous interpretative walks such as the Rainbow Trail.
Nearby, at DL Bliss State Park, follow the spectacular Rubicon Trail into neighboring Emerald Bay State Park. This park is home to the Eagle Falls Trail, a moderate two-mile hike that takes in some of the Sierra high country’s finest views.
When the ponderosa pines bend with the season’s first snow, Tahoe transforms into the nation’s favorite winter playground. Whether you’re looking for snow-capped peaks or crystal clear coves, places to bond with loved ones or pockets of pure solitude, The Lake in the Sky has it all.

Elfin Forest State Preserve | Escondido, CA | May 15th, 2016
This cloudy afternoon, an open-air trek in the Santa Rosa Mountains didn't sound too shabby. This is a beautiful hiking area that's been cleaned up in recent years and continues to be very well maintained. After 2 miles to the top of the preserve, elfin mountain, the trails lead a great traverse around the preserve which acts as one of San Diego's biggest drinking water reservoir.

8 Best Southern California Waterfalls
Eight best Southern California Waterfalls. These are my eight favorite waterfall hikes in Southern California. Most of these are adventure hikes that require rock hopping, scrambling and some light climbing, but the payoff is that you get to enjoy some little known, amazing waterfalls. The last 2 are pretty easy and can be done by the whole family. If you are in good shape and are an intermediate to advanced hiker, you should have no problem with the first six of these beautiful waterfalls. There are some great hidden gems in this video that don't get a lot of traffic. Be safe and enjoy!

Top US Hiking Destinations
Travel Tip: 5 US Hiking Destinations - as part of the expert series by GeoBeats.
My top five hiking destinations in the US: there are so many places to hike in the United States; I would start with the best, which is Yellowstone National Park. It's an American icon, there's so much wildlife there, and so many opportunities to see nature. Second, I would say the Grand Teton National Park, which is right by Yellowstone; also a great place to see buffalo and bears and other wildlife. I would recommend as my third spot Fire Island; there is actually camping there, even though it's somewhat of a luxury destination, so that's a great way to see nature and also get a taste of the local boutiques. Fourth, I would say Nickerson State Park in Cape Cod, another budget way to experience a traditional getaway destination; great hiking and biking in that area. And finally, I would say the ski resorts of Utah; for example, Alta Resort in the summer has great hiking trails. You can see moose, and you can really get up close with the mountains and nature.
