Ganyu dialect is a is a dialect of Mandarin Chinese. It is spoken in the formerGanyu county, now renamed as Ganyu district and the northwestern part of Donghai county, in Jiangsu province of China. Ganyu dialect is a kind of Mandarin Chinese, but there are great disputes in the subdivision of Mandarin Chinese. Some linguists regard it as one of Central Plains Mandarin like Xuzhou Dialect because of same evolution of the entering tone in ancient Chinese with Central Plains Mandarin.
