Garberville is a census-designated place in Humboldt County, California. It is located on the South Fork of the Eel River 52 miles south-southeast of Eureka, at an elevation of 535 feet . The population was 913 at the 2010 United States Census. It is approximately 200 miles north of San Francisco, California, and within a fifteen-minute drive to Humboldt Redwoods State Park and a sixty-minute drive to Eureka, the county seat. Garberville is the primary town in the area known as the Mateel Region, consisting of parts of the Mattole and Eel River watersheds in southern Humboldt and northern Mendocino counties.

The Chandelier Tree in Drive-Thru Tree Park is a 276-foot tall coast redwood tree in Leggett, California with a 6-foot wide by 6-foot-9-inch high hole cut through its base to allow a car to drive through. Its base measures 16 ft diameter at breast height . The sign claims 315 ft. high and 21 ft. wide, but a Certified Arborist experienced with tallest redwoods, using a laser rangefinder, measured the tree as 276 ft. high and 16 ft. diameter. The name Chandelier Tree comes from its unique limbs that resemble a chandelier. The limbs, which measure from 4 to 7 ft in diameter, begin 100 ft above the ground. 10:04 This is where I leave, from my sleep spot next to the hospital. The local library have very short hours and unplugs the wifi signal when they are closed. The reason they unplug the wifi modem is because of all the marijuana smoking hippies. I'm surprised to delirium on the amount of free-loving, loose-tongued hippies. The hippies will set up drum circles around the library if the wifi was working 24 hours a day, I'm sure of it.

However, I am conflicted about the state of the wifi because I have been to Astoria, Oregon a few years ago, and they also unplugged their wifi when they are closed. Astoria also has very slow speeds. However, I did not see any hippies there. So, maybe the circumstances for the reasons why the wifi is unplugged is different.

Northern California US 101: Eureka, Arcata at Sunset

Enjoy the drive up US Highway 101 in northern California around sunset time. This drive begins at California Route 211 (from Ferndale) and hops onto 101 for the drive through Eureka and Arcata. There's a brief stop for dinner, and then the drive continues to the Clam Beach area, where I tried to catch a sunset.

Redcrest, Humboldt County California The Avenue of the Giants

Redcrest is a nice little community on “The Avenue of the Giants”. This is a fun place to stop for lunch and to shop at the local gift shops that sell crafts made from Redwood. This area is surrounded by the Humboldt Redwood State Park and nearby Eel River.
