Texas Hollywood/Fort Bravo is a Western-styled theme park in the province of Almería in Spain. Built in the early 1970s, it lies a few kilometres to the north of the N-340 road highway , near the town of Tabernas. Around 1977, Rafa Molina, a stuntman, bought the set for US$6,000 to improve his job opportunities if the set was to be used for filming. In the early 1980s, he started charging visitors money to tour the set. Mock shoot-outs and barroom brawls were later added, and one of the buildings was converted into a full saloon to sell beer. It is now known as Fort Bravo. The building architecture in Texas Hollywood is of two different styles built back to back split between two different areas. Exploring the sights of Almeria Spain

In this episode our friends Rocio and Javier show us the sights of their hometown - Almeria. Almeria has had a number of movies made there and there is walk of fame in the city.

If you want some great views over the city then head up to the Alcazaba. This fortress over looks the city of Almereia and you get the most wonderful aerial views - especially as the sun is going down. Famously the site was used as on of the filming locations for the TV series Game of Thrones.

In the evening we were treated to some home cooked Paella , which was delicious and Trudy got her brakes checked.

In case you don't know us - let us introduce ourselves - we are Chris (48) & Marianne (51). We recently quit our jobs and sold our belongings to travel full time.

After more than 22 years of marriage we are still best friends - (there's a travel couple goal for you).

Great eats in Andalucia, Almeria, Garrucha, Ruta de la Tapa - Churros, tapas and desserts

Almeria has been declared the Gastronomic Capital of Spain 2019.

In this video, we will show you a typical breakfast of the region, with delicious churros and tostadas.
We also stopped by a restaurant, Venta del Pobre, located in a service station by the motorway.
We finish our journey in Garrucha a popular seaside town, still a fishing port with a vibrant seafood culture. Garrucha has been hosting a Tapas Crawl route (Ruta de la Tapa) every April since 2015.

Spent a pleasant afternoon wandering along the paseo in Garrucha, watching the fishing boats arrive back in time for the 5/6 o'clock auction. Lorries arriving with gypsum and the ships being loaded with it. All the boats bobbing in the marina, all in lovely Almeria sunshine. In 4K using a Panasonic Lumix FZ2000.

Cycling Spain, and the things see

Time to take to the big hills once again as I cross over from near Roses in Spain. It wasn't that they were savage hills, just long to climb. The ride down the other side was the longest and best I have had to. As soon as I entered France there were cycle paths. Not just in the town, but joining towns too. And, and public toilets. That's right, don't expect to see a public toilet in Spain, I never found one.
