Giurgiu is a city in southern Romania. The seat of Giurgiu County, it lies in the historical region of Muntenia. It is situated amid mud-flats and marshes on the left bank of the Danube facing the Bulgarian city of Ruse on the opposite bank. Three small islands face the city, and a larger one shelters its port, Smarda. The rich grain-growing land to the north is traversed by a railway to Bucharest, the first line opened in Romania, which was built in 1869 and afterwards extended to Smarda. Snagov is a commune, located 40 km north of Bucharest in Ilfov County, Romania. According to the 2002 census, 99.2% of the population is ethnic Romanian. The commune is composed of five villages: Ciofliceni, Ghermănești, Snagov, Tâncăbești and Vlădiceasca. Snagov is a tourist and spa resort - but the necessary infrastructure has regressed after 1989.

Comana is a commune in Giurgiu County, southern Romania. It is composed of five villages: Comana, Vlad Țepeș, Budeni, Falaștoaca and Grădiștea. The commune is approximately 32 kilometers south of Bucharest. Comana Monastery is located in the commune, as is Comana Nature Park, the largest protected area in southern Romania. On the night of 6 to 7 of May 1944 a British bomber crash-landed at Comana. The aircrew were killed.

Getting From Romania to Bulgaria By Bus - Bucharest to Sofia is easy on the FlixBus. We did this trip and found it to be comfortable and efficient.

The trip took around 7 hours and left from Autogara Militaria Bus Station in Bucharest, which is about 7km from the Old Town Bucharest Area.

The drop off point was Serika Bus Station in Sofia, Bulgaria. This is a strange bus station in that you won't see a taxi rank or ATM's at the bus station. But if you walk behind the bus station there is a huge supermarket with a taxi rank and an ATM machine inside.

The border crossing from Romania into Bulgaria was easy, they just collected our passports, took them into the immigration office whilst we remained on the Flixbus. The whole process only took about 20 minutes and we never had to leave our seats. Easy.

The bus had a toilet on board and was very clean and modern. There was however no wifi and no entertainment system. But it was very cheap so no complaints.

Dunarea - locuri ideale pentru pescuit/Danube - ideal places for fishing - ROMANIA

Dunarea - Localitatea 'Dunarea' este situata chiar pe malul Dunarii, la aproximativ 15 km de Cernavoda. Este un loc foarte bun pentru pescuit, campare, agrement si orice alte activitati ce se desfasoara in aer liber. Este inca o zona neexplorata, foarte linistita si naturala, nefiind descoperita de majoritatea orasenilor. La cativa kilometri se afla si cetatea Capidava.

Dunarea City is situated on the banks of the Danube, about 15 km from Cernavoda. It is a great place for fishing, camping, recreation and other activities that take place outdoors. It is still an unexplored area, very quiet and natural, without being discovered by most townsfolk. A few kilometers and the city is Capidava.
