Binyamina-Giv'at Ada is a town in the Haifa District of Israel. It is the result of the 2003 merger between the two local councils of Binyamina and Giv'at Ada. In 2017 its population was 15,634. Prior to the merger, the population of Binyamina was 6,600.

In the Biblical account of the battle of the Israelites against the Philistines on Mount Gilboa, the bodies of King Saul and three of his sons were hung on the walls of Beit She'an . In Roman times, Beit She'an was the leading city of the Decapolis. In modern times, Beit She'an serves as a regional center for the settlements in the Beit She'an Valley. The ancient city ruins are now protected within the Beit She'an National Park.

The Rothschild family is a European family of German Jewish origin that established European banking and finance houses from the late eighteenth century. Five lines of the Austrian branch of the family were elevated into the Austrian nobility, being given hereditary baronies of the Habsburg Empire by Emperor Francis II in 1816. The British branch of the family was elevated into the British nobility at the request of Queen Victoria. It has been argued that during the 19th century, the family possessed by far the largest private fortune in the world, and by far the largest fortune in modern world history.

Mi'ilya Good Friday 18 April 2014

In the Greek Catholic Church of Mi'ilya (Galilee, ISR) we attended the Good Friday service and procession. I was more than impressed by the warmth of the singing and the joy of the worshippers inside the church and outside on the square before the church. Every now and then I could understand what was sung: a Kyrie Prayer, a blessing song, and an Alleluia refrain. Some songs were repeated more than a hundred times. Together the verses told the story of Jesus suffering. In the end I joined the melody, without the words. Receiving holy water on your head, together wit all other worshippers is a strong echo of the symbol of baptism.
If you ever come to Mi'ilya, this church is the place to be.
