    Campal is a town situated approximately at a distance of 4 km from Panjim came to be known as Campal named after 'Campal de Dom Manuel', after Father of Panjim, Dom Manuel de Portugal e Castro who developed it as a commercial area in 1830.The area divided into residential and commercial parts actually starts from the end of the medical college and the road that leads you to Campal is now called ‘Dayanand Bandodkar Marg’, named after the death of first Chief Minister of Goa.
