The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum is a 1,137-acre horticultural garden and arboretum located about 4 miles west of Chanhassen, Minnesota at 3675 Arboretum Drive, Chaska, Minnesota. It is part of the Department of Horticultural Science in the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences at the University of Minnesota, and open to the public every day of the year except Thanksgiving and Christmas. An admission fee is charged. It is the Upper Midwest's largest public garden. The arboretum's earliest area was established in 1907 as the Horticultural Research Center, which developed cold-hardy crops such as the Honeycrisp apple and Northern Lights azaleas. It was established in 1905 to preserve Minneopa Falls, a large waterfall for southern Minnesota, and was expanded in the 1960s to include the lower reaches of Minneopa Creek and a large tract of prairie. Minneopa is Minnesota's third oldest state park, after Itasca and Interstate. Two park resources are listed on the National Register of Historic Places: the 1862 Seppman Mill and a district of seven Rustic Style structures built by the Works Progress Administration in the late 1930s. The Upper Sioux Indian Reservation is the reservation of the Upper Sioux Community, one of the three federally recognized bands of the Mdewakanton tribe of Sioux people.The Upper Sioux Indian Reservation is located in Minnesota Falls Township along the Minnesota River in eastern Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, five miles south of Granite Falls. It was created in 1938 when 746 acres of land were returned to the tribe by the federal government, under the Indian Reorganization Act encouraging tribal self-government. As of the 2000 census, the reservation recorded a resident population of 57 persons. Its land area is currently 1.984 square miles . The tribe operates the Prairie's Edge Casino Resort. Every August, the Upper Sioux community holds its Pejhutazizi Oyate traditional wacipi .

It includes reflection by Yosemite Park Ranger, Shelton Johnson (also featured in Ken Burn’s documentary, The National Parks), who shares insight about the trail and the spiritual meaning and importance of the American wilderness. The dynamic soundtrack, featuring music from Lonnie Walker, Megafaun, Phil Cook, Gayngs, Luego, Mandolin Orange, Boat, and I was totally destroying it completes this compelling high-definition audio-visual experience.
