Greenough is a historical settlement situated in a floodplain 400 kilometres north of Perth, Western Australia and 24 kilometres south of Geraldton on the Brand Highway. The settlement's historical buildings are mostly built of local limestone and date to the second half of the 19th century. A sizeable collection of these are owned and managed by the National Trust of Australia. A remarkable feature of the Greenough Flats is its windswept trees, some of which are bent a full 90 degrees due to the prevailing coastal winds. The mouth of the Greenough River is about 10 km to the north of the town.

HMAS Sydney, named after the Australian city of Sydney, was one of three modified Leander-class light cruisers operated by the Royal Australian Navy . Ordered for the Royal Navy as HMS Phaeton, the cruiser was purchased by the Australian government and renamed prior to her 1934 launch. During the early part of her operational history, Sydney helped enforce sanctions during the Abyssinian crisis, and at the start of World War II was assigned to convoy escort and patrol duties in Australian waters. Western Australia. A great place to unwind. Enjoyed exploring by myself, going on some really great tours and hanging with some awesome people I met. Had a hella good time in WA. Being my first ever solo trip, this one will always be remembered. The sights, the experiences, the travellers and the tour guides.

Unidentified shipwrecks of Ashmore Reef and Browse Island in the North West of Australia. Filmed November 2013. 2 indonesian fishing wrecks in the shallows of West Island, Ashmore Reef and 1 unidentified iron hulled sailing ship(possibly the runnymeade) used for carring guano in the 1870-1880's and most likely wrecked during a cyclone on the reef edge on Browse Reef.

Geraldton's population was 38,030 in June 2012.[1] Geraldton is the seat of government for the local government district, City of Greater Geraldton, which also incorporates the town of Mullewa and large rural areas previously forming the shires of Greenough and Mullewa. The town is an important service centre for regional mining, fishing, wheat, sheep and tourism industries.

Iluka Resources is involved in mineral sands exploration, project development, operations and marketing. The company is the major producer of zircon globally and the highest producer of titanium dioxide products of rutile and synthetic rutile. The company mines heavy mineral sands and separates the concentrate into its individual mineral constituents rutile, ilmenite, and zircon. Some of the ilmenite is then processed into synthetic rutile.

We really enjoyed the town of Geraldton in Western Australia. The council is clearly proactive in providing a fantastic town which is enjoyed by locals and travellers alike.
The foreshore is in beautiful conditon and the facilities provided are outstanding. Families are able to easily engage with the parks and beaches and enjoy a fabulous day out.
Travellers have been welcomed with a terrific 24 hour stopover location which provides free water and a dump point.
Congratulations and thank you to the Geraldton City Council, WA.
