The trail's name is derived from a former 1913 bridge that spanned the Des Moines River between the towns of Madrid and Woodward. Conservation board directors and the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation estimate that more than 3,000 people use this trail each week. The trail is a major component of a planned pair of 100-mile loops that will meet near Des Moines.

Pirate Warnings Plus Cruise Ship News and Updates Plus Saturday Travel Trivia! Pirate warnings have been issued to cruise passengers on the Mariner of the Seas for travel between Dubai and Barcelona. The ship departs on April 22 2018 and will arrive in Barcelona on May 7th. Pirate alers are in effect for about 4 days as the ship passes through the Gulf of Aden near Somalia nd Yemen. Extra security staff has been brought aboard the ship and upper decks will be closed off in the evening hours. Passengers have been instructed to close all curtains in the evening and the ship will run with minimal lighting.
