The city is 1,850 meters above sea level. The special nature of this old city and its historic sites attract tourists during the summer to this city, located approximately 360 kilometres (224 miles) southwest of Tehran. The main symbols of this city are the Ganj Nameh inscription, the Avicenna monument and the Baba Taher monument. Majority of the people are Persian but there is a sizable Azerbaijani population too.

The west-east air currents that blow in the autumn, and the local winds that develop due to difference in air-pressure between the elevated areas and the plains, like the blind wind of the Asad Abad region.
According to the survey of 1997, the population of Hamadan province was 1,677,957. Based on official statistics of 1997, the population of Hamadan county was 563,444 people. the majority population are Persians and Hamadan has a sizeable minority of Azeris, and a small group of Jews.
Hamadan is home to many poets and cultural celebrities. The city is also said to be among the world's oldest continuously inhabited cities.
Hamadan has always been well known for handicrafts like leather, ceramic, and carpets.
Iran's Cultural Heritage Organization lists 207 sites of historical and cultural significance in the city of Hamadan alone.
A tomb believed by some to hold the remains of tomb the biblical Esther and her cousin Mordechai is located in Hamadan.
The scientist and writer known in the west as Avicenna (Abu Ali Sina) is buried in Hamadan. The 11th-century Iranian poet Baba Taher is also interred in Hamadan.Wikipedia

Out trip through Iran continues with the traditional town of Isfahan where we try some local dishes and show you cool things to do in Isfahan as well as the impressive attractions.

Compared to Tehran, our last stop, Isfahan is more traditional and conservative. This is why you can visit quite a few monumental sights here. We took 2 days to try the local cuisine and explore the best things to do in Isfahan such as roaming the world's second largest square, smoke shisha or visit the big mosques.
Due to it's centralized structure and the numerous parks Isfahan is a great city to explore for tourists - all major attractions can be found in and around the huge Naqsh-e Jahan Square.
We reached out to the local Couchsurfing community to get in touch with locales who could give us tips beyond the typical tourist sites - it didn't take long until Shayan reached out and offered us to show us his Esfahan. This way we got to see places and eat at restaurants we normally wouldn't have found ourselves. In this video We give a few recommendations of places to visit in Isfahan and typical persian dishes you should try when visiting.
This part of the trip was executed within 3 days - following I list all the places I visited & Things to do in Isfahan:
- Naqsh-e Jahan Square
- Masjed-e Shah / Shah Mosque
- Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque
- Ali Qapu Palace
- The Imperial Bazaar of Isfahan
- Abbasi Hotel
- Samboose & Faloodeh
- Promenade & Parks
- Shahrzad Restaurant
- Saba Hotel
- Chehel Sotoun Palace
- Esfahan Old Town & Streets
- Si-o-seh Pol
This video is part of „Inside Iran“ - a documentary series introducing you to popular and unknown sights / things to do in Iran as well as the Persian cuisine and the super friendly locals we met on our trip from Tehran to Isfahan, Shiraz and Yazd. With this series I want to create a better understanding of the country and it’s people without focussing on politics or religion.

***HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR 2018!***
A bazaar is a permanently enclosed marketplace or street where goods and services are exchanged or sold. The term originates from the Persian word bāzār. (
On the second day, I moved out of the hostel and stayed with a Couchsurfer. Later during the day, I set out myself to Tajrish Bazaar located in North Tehran. It is smaller than Grand Bazaar but I find it to be more interesting due to its various sellers, colorful spices as well as more traditional feeling when I visited the place.
On the following day, I went to the Grand Bazaar in Tehran but it was already a bit too late and overcrowded. I didn't manage to roam around other than capturing a bit of the crowd. I also went to Imam Khomeini mosque as well as the very famous Moslem restaurant, all located within the bazaar area itself.
I hope you find this video to be as entertaining as well as helpful. Apology for inconsistency in uploading as it is difficult to actually find decent WiFi. Nonetheless, thank you so much for watching.

ABOUT ME
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi there!
I am Anissa Syifa Adriana, otherwise known as Syifa. I am a conversation connoisseur, Indonesian female solo traveler and make-up enthusiast. I started my first solo traveling in June 2014, a coincidence trip, where it was intended for someone I was very close to in the past. I never regret deciding to go because after that, I never look back.
I decided to leave Indonesia since August 2016, to do a long-term traveling. After being on the road for about 5 months, in January 2017 I was offered to teach English in Yinchuan, Northwest China. Instead of going back home, at that time I went straight to China from Vietnam carrying only the remaining USD 300 that I had in my bank account. Arrived in China for the first time, everything felt so intimidating and foreign at the same time. Since then, I am based in Yinchuan, Northwest China and have been loving it.
Thank you again for watching! I hope you get to enjoy the video as much as I am making it.
Let's keep it positive. Don't forget to like, share, comment and subscribe :)
Till next time!
