The 8th Azaleas Festival started on 12th May in Zhalan Tun, in inner Mongolia.
May is the flowering period for Azaleas in inner Mongolia. From May, you can enjoy Azaleas almost everywhere in north east of inner Mongolia. The best place to enjoy Azaleas is at the Azaleas lake. The lake is located near Arshan City, and is about 0.49 square miles.
Besides the Azaleas, many activities and performances are offered as well. For example, there is a Spring long distance running race, a Kite game, and you can also visit the Tongxin heaven lake, volcano, and cliffs near by. The Azaleas Festival will last for 20 days.
Inner Mongolia offers plenty for the curious explorer, and travellers should be sure to check out: Hai La Er, where they can horse ride on grasslands and Man Zhou Li, the junction between China Mongolia , and Russia. A trip to A Er Shan is also a most do, to see volcanic remains and stunning views.
