North Coast 500: Supercars and the ultimate Scottish road trip
Motoring enthusiasts can experience one of the world’s most spectacular grand tours in unforgettable style by ordering prestige marques from a special “à la car” menu.
Inspired by the fine-dining and Michelin-starred restaurants across the Highlands, the à la car menu features nine supercars to choose from, with alternative options available on request.
Created by Connoisseurs Scotland and Lang Atholl, the week long experience offers enthusiasts the opportunity to explore Scotland’s North Coast 500 route in unprecedented luxury, complete with indulgent pit stops at some of the country’s finest hotels.
Jeremy Hawkings, Chief Executive, Connoisseurs Scotland said: “We expect the new luxury drive, dine and stay experience across the NC500 to be very popular.
“The route offers some of the most incredible motoring one can enjoy in the United Kingdom, challenging corners, fantastic straights and stunning views – what better way to enjoy them than behind the wheel of some of the world’s most beautiful supercars?
“There’s no feeling quite like taking a Ferrari 458 Italia or a Lamborghini Huracán around the nuances of Sutherland or the Nissan GT-R around the sweeping scenery of Caithness, for example – but that experience can be completely different in a McLaren 570S or the formidable Audi R8 v10 Spyder.”
He added: “Scotland is renowned for its enviable larder, exceptional hotels and dramatic roads so we’ve developed the Ultimate Scottish Road trip as one of the best ways to experience the Highlands.”
Alongside the luxury pit stops at Kinloch Lodge, the Torridon, Inver Lodge Hotel and Chez Roux, Dornoch Castle, Rocpool Reserve and Chez Roux and Boath House, Michelin Star Chefs Marcelo Tully and Charlie Lockley are on hand to offer cooking and foraging experiences.
Stop-offs at picture-perfect landscapes at Handa Island and Loch Ness complete the route.
Starting at £4,450 per person, the Ultimate Scottish Road Trip offers six nights and seven days of motoring bliss, beginning in Inverness.

Colourful Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia
I'm still pinching myself to be on the island of BORNEO! I don't know about you, but Borneo has always been a very exotic place in my mind and being here feels like a dream. There's a lot to see in Malaysia and in this video we're spending the day in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah exploring the city by foot. KK, as it's known here, was left devastated after Allied bombings in 1945 and only three buildings survived. One of them is now a street art gallery, one is the Sabah Tourism Office, and one is a clock tower that's also been used as a lighthouse. Check below for more our adventures in Malaysia

Haul Out Preparation: 1 BIG Sailboat: 1 SMALL Lift :5 Cheeky Neighbors!(Patrick Childress #39)
Sailboat Haul Out Tips and Preparations (Preps) : 1 big Boat; 1 small Travel Lift & 5 Cheeky neighbors in the boat yard, in South Africa! (Patrick Childress Sailing #39) Ep 219 Step 173 Ep. 36
Upon arrival in Richards Bay, South Africa, we prepare our blue water sailboat, SV Brick House for another haulout for boat Maintenance, sailboat upgrades, and of course new bottom paint. We will be doing lots of boat work here. Patrick Childress shows how he cleans the boat, tests the water for drinking, kills the invading ants before they infest our boat, and then gets us ready to fit the boat in to a travel lift that is a little too small to accommodate our rigging. We have to unattached the forestays to fit on the travel lift, and Patrick demonstrates the best way to do this without taking off the sails, or disassembling the entire profurl roller furling drum. Hauling a sailboat out of the water, even on a travel lift that is a bit too small doesn’t have to be chaotic.
Here is the ant poison we have carried with us around the world that has worked 99.9% of the time with ants. I recommend carrying a big supply of it because it’s sometimes hard to find!

Cornwall - Sea Kayaking, Ralph's Cupboard!!!
One of thoses special little places that will lurk in the corner of your mind, forever!Got lucky with the timing, arriving midday, with the sun streaming right through, illuminating the gin clear water. Was ready to launch about 10am,but it was quite windy, with white horses in abundance beyond Gull rock.At this point doubts crept in,because as we know the wind ALWAYS increases in the afternoon doesn't it?Not on this day, after a cup of tea,and more comestibles it dropped,so I cautiously proceeded, thinking I won't go far in case if it gets up.It did a little around 2pm but didn't spoil one of the best days I've ever had - doing any activity! it was that good.(See previous video - Portreath to Godrevy Island)Set off from Portreath, and you will find Ralph's Cupboard in about half a mile, thats all.So easily do-able in sit ons and inflatables given safe conditions, the whole area is really special, whatever way you go,you really can't go wrong.
The legend of Wrath says that here resided Wrath(Ralph) who would ambush passing ships here in days of yore, commandeering cargo and crew, returning to his Cupboard to store the bounty, and devour the sailors!Seafarers got wary of this so began to avoid the area, but this inflamed Wrath who would then hurl huge boulders in fury.At low water these boulders can be seen scattered hereabouts, between Portreath and Reskajeage Downs.I haven't made that bit up by the way,it is genuine Cornish legend, along with King Arthur and Lady of the Lake,e.t.c. I like to imagine him something like a giant Shrek a bit dopy and that, sat there in the water in Ralph's Cupboard biting heads off sailors, and flinging the occasional body out to sea because he didn't like the taste of that particular one! The trip inspired the music again, which was me on,2 guitar tracks, our Craig's bass(he's a mosher!) keyboard fill and in house drums, all mixed on the amazing Boss BR600 - enjoy!

How to Approach Lisbon, Portugal [Sailing Pilot] // Sailors & Seadogs
This sailing video is about how to approach the marinas in Lisbon sailing into Rio Tejo on a sailboat.
Today we approach together Lisbon, Portugal’s viral capital. Among the many options in Lisbon we picked Marina Parque das Nacoes because it’s the closest to the airport, not even 10 mins by car. However it’s the furthest marina up Rio Tejo, so if you only stay overnight it might not be the best option as it will take you 3 to 4 hours from the entrance of the Rio Tejo. In that case Cascais, Oeiras or one of the plenty other marinas further downstream Rio Tejo might be the better options.
Lisbon is a great destination for every sailor headed North from the Canary Islands or the Mediterranean to the Bay of Biscay or for those headed the opposite direction.
And there is no reason to not stop in this wonderful city and wander on the paths of the explorers. Who of us sailors don't feel sometimes like Vasco da Gama or Henry the Navigator exploring new lands? Not even talking of the wonderful welcome view Lisbon grants to every sailor sailing up Rio Tejo.
Beware in fresh and strong Westerly and Southerly winds seas will break on the shoals Cachopo do Norte and Cachopo do Sul.
Lisbon is a standard port and the MHWS is around 3.8 m and MLWS around 0.6 m above chart datum. The current in the river is significant and may reach up to 5 kts. So entering Rio Tejo with rising water is a good advice. Also make sure you consider the cross-currents at the entry of marinas, which for most marinas is very narrow.
