Harrison Bay State Park, the Hamilton County Landfill, Bear Trace Golf Course, a course designed by Jack Nicklaus, and Skull Island, a recreational area owned by TVA, are all located in Harrison.

    Harrison Bay State Park is a 1,200-acre state demonstration park, TVA built in the 1930s along the shores of Chickamauga Lake. The bay gets it names from the now partially submerged town of Harrison, Tennessee. It was built at the same time as Booker T. Washington State Park. Activities offered at the park include: camping, fishing, biking, boating, hiking, and swimming.

    Booker T. Washington State Park is a 353-acre park situated on the shores of Chickamauga Lake. It was built largely by African-American units of the Civilian Conservation Corps. It was originally designated under segregation as one of two Tennessee State Parks for use by blacks until discrimination in public accommodations in the United States was banned under the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
